Curtis helped me with my first investment property purchase. He was patient while I learned the market, and very informative to get me up to speed. He was able to decipher all of the information available and give me what I needed to know to make an informed decision. He was able to secure tenants for the property before we had closed, and his attention to detail and follow up made the process unbelievably easy and profitable. I would highly recommend him as a Real Estate Agent and Property Manager

Been in my house for a week and I love it! I had a ton of questions and Hannah flawlessly answer them all. She told me she was new to the company, so I was quite impressed! Be sure to check out their other listings!:)

STAY AWAY!! I wish 0 star was an option. By far the worst company I have ever leased from and I've used many companies. From getting unnecessary charges, having construction workers for American realty block me into my driveway while the workers were away at lunch, entering my unit without a 24 hour notice, having the cleaning lady clean my place the day after I moved in, having random construction around my house from day 1 of moving me in every day now for 6 months, blasting music from american realty construction workers as early at 7AM, having to get into my apartment for multiple days at a time to replace the heating and electric system in my unit because they wanted to update the other unit while I live in my apartment and leaving behind my apartment an absolute disaster, having to tell them they have to get a cleaning lady to clean it up and them said they'll complete it next week when it's done... so I have to live in filth in the meantime and so much more. I could go on but I have only lived in my unit for 6 months and I'm already trying to break my lease because of how unhappy I am with the company. The lady that works the front desk is anything but nice. Upon signing they make themselves seem like such a great company but don't fall for it. The only thing I will say is good about them is the actual maintenance worker for the company. They're extremely nice and get things fixed very quickly. Every time I put in a request he calls me within 24 hours. Probably the individual paid the least in the company that should be paid the most.

Overall my experience with American Realty was okay. The lady that showed us the house we were looking at was a bit unprofessional and scattered. When we went to go sign our lease they had the wrong information written on our contract and when confronted by us about it our agent got defensive and threatened to increase our rent. We are living in one of their properties in the fall and hopefully we won't have any further issues with them.

Is negative 5 stars an option? We rented from these guys last year and the tales of incompetency and poor customer service skills are shocking...and well detailed if you read all the other reviews. The woman that runs the front desk, is less than ideal. You could call her incompetent as a start. I sent an email to confirm the appointment of our signing and she acted like I was stupid for confirming. My boyfriend was coming in from the other side of the state and naturally it's easier to do something later in the day. Her curt response included the line "I'm pretty sure we already had this conversation on the phone." Oh really, are you? I'm pretty sure you shouldn't treat new clients like that, before they've signed a lease and are within their rights to walk away from the deal all together. When we met to sign the lease we requested a copy of the lease, she copied it and handed it to us. Before having Jared sign it....so it wasn't even an active contract. We asked if he had time to sign it quickly and she said "he's really busy" and said she'd just give it to him later. We weren't comfortable leaving without the signed lease and a copy for our records. So she opened the back door and just asked him to sign it.. wasn't busy ... When we filled out the paper work of the "status" of the house the first week we lived there we noted a few spots where the paint was chipped and reported it so we wouldn't get dinged when we moved out. It took 4 months to get this fixed, they wouldn't respond to my requests I just kept emailing every other week the same format email asking when this would get scheduled (so I had documentation that we tried to get this fixed). Finally one day I get a text from the less than bright front desk girl saying that they went into the house and fixed the chipped paint. By MI law they have to notify you 24 hrs in advance if they're going to enter the house you're renting...which they didn't. She then sent me pictures of these fresh orange walls....there were no walls in our house that were orange. So you can imagine my surprise when I'm already on the phone with her asking why they were in the house without notice and I get photos from the WRONG house...it was another couple months after that before they finally fixed our walls. Oh then there was the one time when our toilet wasn't working and we called early morning on a week day and they said they wouldn't be out for a couple days when they could get around to it. Mind you this was our ONE toilet in the house... luckily we know a bit about renters rights and left a voicemail stating that according to MI law our house was considered inhabitable if there's not a functioning toilet in the building. That got them out their quicker than anything. The only bright spot of the whole experience was that the Maintenance guy was awesome. Oh and 3 months after we moved in they were already showing people through the house and asking us if we wanted to re-up our lease.... so you hardly get to live in the place before they're pressuring you to re-up or move out. So if you are still interested in renting from moral of the story is know your rights and how the law can support you. But really, save yourself the headache and the over priced houses and just rent from somewhere else. We're with Fulton Group now and they're fantastic!
