The fixtures, appliances and recreation facilities are great. There are train tracks very, very nearby. The new management is rude which makes regular things more unpleasant than they need to be. The basic construction quality appears to be poor. We had plenty of mold/mildew issues which we never had in other apartments before. We're moving out! Hoping to find a place with better ventilation and definitely a bit nicer staff somewhere else.
Decent apartment living. Good repair and regular maintenance efforts from the staff. Current management leadership at this location - needs training with customer service and understanding customer needs. There are plenty of other rental properties in the region that can be selected over this one.
My wife and I have lived here for about 6 months and love it. It is a great location being nestled in a mostly residential area. You are near grocery stores, dining, shopping, and within walking distance of the greenways. The staff has been friendly, and the amenities are great (pool, gym, etc...). We also enjoy that the buildings are new, have good appliances, and have good HVAC systems. The residents are friendly, there are lots of kids and families, and plenty of people walking their pets. One big perk for us is that W/D are included and I don't have to pay for that stupid "valet trash" service. Others have said that the walls/ceilings are thin. I do occasionally hear my neighbors, but I have found that it is much, much quieter than other apartments I have lived in. Also, people have posted comments about how the proximity of the train tracks and Old Apex Road creates a lot of noise. The trains are loud, but only come through 1-2 times a day, and Old Apex is really only busy during the evening commute. And let's face it, noise is something they should have thought of before moving in. It is obvious that trains/roads are nearby, and would thus cause noise. Finally, someone complained about car break-ins. Yes, there were several car break-ins during one night. But, the owners of the cars that were broken into left items in plain sight. To my knowledge, the complex has taken steps to prevent this going forward. Plus, the complex participates in the Phoenix Project, has police officers living throughout the complex, is less than .25 miles from a fire station, and is 100 yards from a school. I feel safe here. I move around for my job frequently and have lived in six apartment complexes in the past decade. This place ranks in at number 2. It is pretty clean, new, friendly, good location, decent amenities, and is as was sold. I would certainly recommend it to someone else.
I have been at Phillips Swift Creek since January of 2012. I do hear my neighbors from time to time, but I expect to when living in an apartment. I have never been disappointed by the office staff or the maintenance staff. Everyone has been great to work with. I highly recommend this community! I would like to see a dog park added.
The buildings themselves do have their issues. They are cheaply constructed, not the thickest walls, visible flaws, cheap carpet, the outlets are flimsy, etc. But it is an apartment, and that comes with the territory. There are train tracks next to the building in the woods, so you can hear the train at multiple points in the day, the rumble and the horn, but that doesn't really bother us. There is limited garage availability, they have over 100 apartments, but only about 15 garages, so we were put on a wait list and had to wait a few months for one to come available. I have had a few small issues with maintenance, but they have all been resolved within 24 hours. The complex is pet friendly, multiple bag issuing points and trash cans and plenty of room to walk. However there are some residents who abuse the pet privilege and leave droppings about, but that reflects more on their class rather than the management.
