Love living here. Great views, nice layouts and large 2 brs (1200 sq ft), awesome concierge staff, numerous subway lines within close proximity- makes life so convenient. Also nearby great ft greene, bk heights, and dumbo restaurants.

This is the best building I've ever lived in! Everything is wonderful -- the amenities, the appliances, the staff, the restaurant on the first floor and supermarket right across the street, and easy access to several subway lines. A plus that the building is rent-stabilized, so my rent will only go up a few percent when it's time to renew.

After getting a new job and relocating back to NY, we decided to give Manhattan a miss and opt for Brooklyn. With only 3 days to find an apartment, the Avalon stood out from the rest. We haven't been disappointed. It's well run, the staff are very welcoming. It's well connected but a little light on nearby bars/restaurants (great wine shop round the corner though). The only downside has been the construction on Flatbush ave which finished up about a month ago. All in all, a great place to live.

Awesome apartments with excellent views, super friendly staff, very helpful leasing office, and perfectly connected (take the A,C,F from Jay St. or the B,Q,R from DeKalb Ave).

The apartment layouts are nice, and the building amenities are quite good. Every unit has laundry, which definitely makes life easier. However, the building really went cheap on sound insulation. The walls between units are paper-thin, so you will hear your neighbors' TVs and appliances. This is not because the people who live here are inconsiderate - it's because the construction is shoddy. This is too bad; by being so cheap with this aspect of the building, the Avalon missed an opportunity to provide top-notch rentals.
