I absolutely adore this hotel! The environment provides you with a new and exciting experience. It's an escape into a modern showcase. The service is professional and kind. My room was beautiful, although it may have been a bit on the smaller side. They definitely compensated with a nice big bathroom. Nothing can impress me more than a enormous bathroom. 10/10 Love it!

Excellent Location, Pleasant Staff, Comfortable Spacious Room This Renaissance Hotel is a historic building right next to the State House and very close to the Providence Place Mall with many shops and restaurants. Steve checked us in early with a big smile and gave us a spacious room on the top floor with a pretty nice view. Although it's a historic building, the interior décor were well finished and updated. Our room has two nice size arm chairs, an ottoman, and a very nice working area with a quality extendable desk and a super comfy high back chair. The room had many updated amenities such as safe, fridge, coffee maker and large LCD TV. Comfy King sized bed gave us a very good quality of sleep. The bathroom was huge, beautiful and spotless clean with nice toiletry items (Aveda). In room Wi-Fi charges a fee but free in the public area. There were many nice seating areas around the beautiful lobby. Plenty of "help yourself" apples at check in counter and refreshing local lemonade were served in the afternoon that was a nice touch. We walked to the State House and beautiful Providence Riverwalk. We missed the Waterfire (visit official website for schedule), but still enjoyed the scenery very much. Providence is a charming city and this Renaissance Providence Hotel is within easy walking distance to many attractions. We definitely would recommend this hotel as a great place to stay when visiting the city. Stayed October 2013, traveled as a couple

The location and decor are great. Some rooms have great views and others do not. Beds are uncomfortable. The maintenance is terrible. Toilet needed to be unclogged, there were dust bunnies behind doors, inside the cabinets under the TV. People they employ are rude and incompetent ( except for one waiter and the guy who came to unplug the toilet). Room service required 3 trips to get what we ordered and at the end the bagels were not ediable- burned to charcoal like black objects. Next morning we went to the cafeteria to eat, the waiter was great but the egg woman was terrible, served 3 people behind me ( all men) before she finally prepared my order, which took forever even after she started because she turned off the stove and did not realize it until I pointed it out. There were no lines or hurry, she was using only two of the three pans in front of her. Valet parking is expensive and it takes forever for them to bring your car from wherever they park to the congested front circle where you are at the mercy of the cars in front of you to move. Need new management and employees.

Had a wonderful experience at this hotel. Room was beautiful and very classy (as was the building itself – it's in an old Masonic Lodge), everything you would expect from a Renaissance property. Wonderful location right next to the beautiful capitol and Providence Place. Within easy walking distance from all of downtown Providence. Also very close to the Amtrak station, which was a huge plus! The staff was very helpful in acquainting us with the city and recommending places to go and things to see. I will undoubtedly stay here upon my return to Providence.

We were beyond happy with our wedding at the Renaissance! Courtney, Lisa and Steven are an amazing team, as well as Dino and the staff from Public! Courtney always got back to me with an answer to all my crazy questions right away! I was so comfortable knowing our day was in her hands. Steven was amazing in setting up the ballroom and all the extras we had brought for the day. He exceeded our expectations and was even just a great person to have there that night and talk with! LIsa was also there to make sure things went smoothly. She helped me out in my "hangry" moments after taking millions of pictures and made sure my bridal party, family and I were taken care of. Cocktail hour also exceeded our expectations. When booking the hotel, Temple was still there which was a huge factor in us choosing the Renaissance. I was upset when it switched over to Public only because it was such a different vibe. I then realized it was equally, if not more, of a cool place. The hors d'oeuvres were better than we ever expected and so many of our guests can't stop talking about them! We even had guests write in our guest book that Public was the best restaurant they've ever been to! The main courses in general were amazing, too! We had several guests tell us it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. We had such a hard time choosing at our food tasting but were able to narrow it down. I finished my entire meal (didn't care about my mermaid silhouette dress...it was too delicious!) We had guests stay the night and every single one of them complimented the room and even the staff. My father-in-law is an early riser and he was so thankful to the staff and valet as they helped him find coffee in the wee hours of the morning! The staff and bartenders were amazing, too. They made sure the groom and I were happy and we certainly were! Thank you Renaissance for giving us the best night of our lives!
