My fiance and I were looking for an apartment in the Boston area while living in NYC and were on a MAJOR time crunch, during high rental season. We were referred to Modern through a friend and Merial was our agent... she was a rockstar! Professional, fun and calmed us during a very stressful decision making period. She showed us 6 places in our range in 4 hours (no B.S. about it) We found two places we liked and were able to secure one of of them quickly. We has some initial issues with the landlord and were upset... not the fault of Modern. Modern's staff gave us great advice for dealing with him and everything worked out great. We love our apt now and will be going back when we buy our home this year.

We found a great place that was everything we were looking for through our realtor from here for Sept 1st. We signed in February and we were very happy. We were a little sad that he couldn't bargain the price down for us (maybe because his fee would have been less as well). However, 1 month before we were about to move in our realtor let us know our lease was going to be cut short. Our realtor forgot the landlord had told him the lease only went until Aug 28th. He then told us we could get the keys early that morning and then we couldn't get them until late that afternoon. I'm grateful we found a great place but the mess that followed was not worth it. Word of advice: make sure the landlord signs the lease within the same week as you do. We could have avoided this whole situation if we had known a little better.
