It's not the worst apartment in the world. I've been in worse. The landscaping is nice. The parking is accommodating. The apartments themselves are clean upon moving in. That said, the management is horrible. Mary is terribly rude and obviously hates her job, taking it out on the residents. If something is broken (which many, many things break) she tries to blame it on the tenants so that it will later come out of the security deposit. We've had multiple things break over the past year (heater, toilets, sinks, etc) and when we call to tell Mary, she acts as though we've broken something again and how dare we bother her about it. The other problem is that they never actually fix anything. They "band-aid" it as cheaply as possible, and it breaks again a few months later.

If you're willing to put up with an apartment manager who sometimes throws tempter tantrums like a 2 year old, then this is your kind of place. I lived at Northwoods for 2 years and had a great experience for the majority of the time. The reason being, nothing was broken and I always paid my rent on time. My only real issue with Mary was toward the end of the winter prior to my lease expiring and when our heater kept failing. To make a long story short, my heater failed three times. On the second time, it was nearing 11 PM and the repairman still hadn’t showed up. So instead of calling Mary so late, I called the company. They happily called me back and told me they were still coming. Then on the third heater failure, I called Mary again. She said she would not repair it and was not obligated to. I told her I pay rent to have everything, including the heater, working. I even told her it was getting close to freezing every night. She then became irate. She threatened to charge me for all the heater repairs because I undermined her authority by calling the repair company the last time. I tried to explain why, but she started screaming at me about how no one likes her. The height of the conversation was when she told me my cats can handle the cold because “they are cold-blooded.” I could not reason with her and, happy to say, I kept my cool. It was like talking to a child. The conversation ended with no success. Several hours later, the heater was fixed. Apparently, she realized her obligation as manager after all.

I would have to agree with these other two reviews. The apartment was decent but the management was reluctant to resolve maintenance issues and unpleasant to deal with.
