stuy town is great...especially now with the rent reduction:) its big, clean, quiet...the people that work for Tishman Speyer have been less than helpful and not very service oriented but the apartment is really great for the money.

Moving to Peter Cooper Village may have been one of the bigger mistakes made. Since moving in which is only slightly more than 3 weeks ago our apartment has been flooded with cockroaches. We do not live on any of lower levels but higher up. Senior managements’ reluctance to solve and willingness to confront the problem is appalling. They rather send over various handymen, of which each handyman can only do one thing e.g. move appliances, paint, carpentry etc. The skill set and service mentality among the handymen has been varied to say the least. Over the past three weeks we have literally had visits from handymen everyday, and on everyday we have had more visits from COCKROACHES despite assurances on each time that the problem is now solved should get reduced. I understand that this is New York and that you may see an occasional cockroach in particular in the summer. However, moving into a “newly renovated” apartment and seeing them come out of cupboards, sockets, drains in sinks, hallways outside apartment etc there clearly is a problem that is not going away anytime soon. I would highly recommend if you do consider moving here to have in the contract language regarding cockroaches and that you inspect and exterminate every inch of your apartment prior to your arrival. We cleaned and sprayed our entire apartment prior to moving in.
