The good: - Cheap price. - Decent location. The bad: - Bed bugs. - Cockroaches. - Other tenants. - Horrible maintenance. - Rude staff. I moved in here when I was not in the best place, financially. It was the only place I could afford at the time, and for affordable single housing it's acceptable. However, after living here for such a long time, the bad outweighs the good. And most of that is because of the staff in the front office. The maintenance is very poor here. The water is constantly being shut off. The paint is caked on the walls over nails and even the outlet covers. Dust, grime, and oil were all over the range hood. And the range hood's filter was so caked with oil that it was basically a fire risk. The shower's caulking was so poorly done, the poor thing looks like a gingerbread house. In the combination pantry/closet, there's just one bar for clothes, and one shelf for everything else. Everything in the apartment was caked with filth when I moved in, including the carpet. The office threatens to evict over anything. And they're totally inflexible and rude about everything, too. There's also bed bugs. So get a metal bed frame and make sure nothing ever touches the floor. You can try to tell the office about it, but it's doubtful that you'll get results. As far as the roaches go, I suggest getting used to your new roommates. Something else you should get used to is the cops. They'll be over pretty regularly. And you should expect yelling from your neighbors, literally always. Since the walls are so thin, you'll get to know all three groups pretty well. Also, the parking lot has a lot of foot traffic from San Pedro. So you get to look forward to several car break ins too. If you're broke, please get a roommate instead of staying here. It's not worth it.

I lived there in 2005 and 2006 and I loved it. it was a small place but affordable and grandma always told me as long as you got your own place to lay your head it don't matter how big it is. and I love the swimming pool.. for the price and area you don't get a place for 415 a month...and stores are everywhere.. it was awesome! April and Richard are awesome!

I am Retired now and recently sold my home as it was far too large, and the expense was just draining my savings. So I went to Uptown Park to see what was available. My need was for a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment. The have one bedrooms but there were none available at the moment. I also have a Medium sized dog and don't wish to adopt him out. So to say I wasn't qualifying for the Apartment house is mostly because of my own needs. The lady that interviewed me (sorry don't recall her name) was very friendly and helpful . She showed me a model apartment. I also try to observe how my staying there would be, in the event I can move there in the future. The parking lot was clean and there are Cameras every where !! which to me is a Big Plus. I was told that there is also a person that walks the property at night.
