We are thrilled with Hampton-in-Highland. My in-laws, who are both seniors, became residents three years ago and have found the management to be exceptionally friendly, responsive and thorough. Over the years, every request they have made has been met immediately and their expectations have been consistently exceeded. As lifelong homeowners transitioning into apartment living, we were concerned that they might not be satisfied, but they enjoy and appreciate both the premises and the folks who operate it. Definitely, live there.

This place is fantastic. Stainless steel and granite are gorgeous. Modern features. Love the pool. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend living here to all.

I am pretty disappointed in this community. They are very nice and friendly and will tell you anything you want to hear to sell you an apartment. Once you are in, be prepared for some costly surprises. They only pay for gas, and guess what? Nothing in your apartments needs gas. I was lied to and told that heat is included in monthly rent. Until I received a huge bill from Nipsco and was told that it is my responsibility. I don’t have a problem paying for my heat, I just wish I knew that going into the place. Recently everyone’s rent went up because they started charging a monthly fee for water. If you are not living there for a year, your premium will be waaaay higher than advertised. When I asked for an extension, they raised my monthly rent by over 20%. I am just a single mom and I thought that was unreasonable. They also do not tell you that you will not get your security deposit back because they use it to paint the place and shampoo the carpets. So you may get approx. 15% of it back at the most. Some of the office staff is friendly, but definitely not as much as when you live there. If you have a package for pick up, they are not always happy to get it and seem bothered. I had a couple of maintenance requests while I lived there, and both of the took over a week to get resolved. They say they have some kind of special ceiling floors that do not let sound through. That is a complete lie. I could hear my neighbors upstairs showering, walking ,etc. I didn’t bother me personally, but again, they were not honest about this and if you are sensitive to sound it might be a problem. Anyway, the apartments in general are average in appearance. Old appliances and dark interiors. My apt has smelled kind of musty the whole time I lived there and couldn’t get rid of the smell. Overall, I think they are overpriced and have too many hidden fees (like parking stickers!) which would make me not recommend it to anyone. Living in a house is cheaper than there.

Don't trust the smiles when you go there. Don't trust management. Immediately after you sign the contract you will see evil faces. They will try to fine you for any reason. Overpriced plus more for electricity and others. They increased the rent every year. It is better if you go somewhere otherwise will regret it, believe me.
