I lived at Mill Run for 2 years. When I first moved there it was great. The staff in the office had great customer service skills and actually knew their residents. Things changed last year with all new staff. It seemed as though every time I went to the office, there was someone new there. No one seemed very friendly, they were not interested in getting to know you, and their customer service skills over the phone was terrible. They started charging for pool passes which I felt was ridiculous. For the amount that you pay monthly (which increases drastically once the move in special is over), I would expect more a more friendly environment versus a business environment. Apart from that, the grounds were kept clean, having garage parking is great in the winter, and valet garbage service is a major plus.
Unfortunately - when we moved in we recieved a discount if we rented 18 months. We took the offer. The only thing that is not good is the trash pickup. It should not be a benefit, and they should not charge a fee. The hallways smell horrible and the rugs have been ruined. This is a bad idea and had ruined the appearence.
Also, the KEY FOBS rarely function for both the garage, and the locked doors. Poor maintenance...as well as the gate to the garage is always open!
I live with my wife here. It's a nice and quiet apartment community to reside. All the apartments come with washer/dryer, microwave owen and other basic amenities. It has good gym and garage facilities. Mail room lockers are well organized and secure. Rent is competitive with other communities around. Leasing office staff is fully supportive and helpful. I would recommend this community.
The place is nice. I will give it that. The issue is no place for kids. it has come to the point that children are playing in the garage. They need a out side space for kids to play. The only space out side was given to the dogs. Also the space is small and high price. To many nice apartments in the area with more space. This is why we are moving.
I currently live here at this location with my boyfriend! It does take time to get all the paperwork completed, There are pros and cons to living anywhere but here's my personal assessment after more than 3 months living here.
Pros: Comes with a washer/dryer, dishwasher, garage parking for one car (additional car cost $), pool, gym, free yoga classes on Tuesdays from labor day-memorial day, a clubhouse (only open during business hours), a great view (depending on your apt #), good price in my opinion (come in during special like we did), safe location, cameras, key access, referral reimbursement oppotunities, bike storage room, close to Soldiers Delight, easy access to highways, about 1.5 miles from the metro, and more.
Cons: probably the biggest con is the limited/no cell phone service!!! Some people may have issues getting satelitte tv, somtimes, you can hear your neighbor above you walking and closing cabinets and doors, but overall it's pretty quiet.
I think where you live is a big decision, so take your time, and if you do decide to live here, please feel free to put me down as your reference! :)!
