I lived here for 4 years. Its great place to live, made some great friends because of the community activities. Beautifully landscaped with lots of ponds and waterfalls, gives you a very zen feeling, a very functional gym that's not the greatest but it definitely gets the job done and its included in your rent, so why not? The staff is also very polite and helpful. Each time I had a service request opened they took care of it almost immediately. There is a forest preserve across the street on Lake Cook for biking or running and a golf course on a hill with a running track around it. The worst part about this place is the Internet and TV. And yes, this requires its own paragraph. You have to use the proprietary internet and TV that they provide. Absolutely appalling. It really feels like its the 90s and you're using dial-up. If you want to watch videos on youtube, start the video, pause it, go do your laundry and when you come back maybe the video will play. They advertize 3 mbps but once you're downloading some thing for 5 minutes or so they will automatically throttle you down to 100KBps. So forget about HD streaming from anywhere like Hulu or Netflix. Many people have tried complaining but they are not able to do anything about this. Some folks were able to get AT&T Uverse which is beautiful. But your unit has to be close to a junction box for this. If you are too far away from the junction box, they wont be able to hook your apartment up with uverse. Good luck!
