Avalon Silicon Valley Sunnyvale is excellent. Amazing apartments with great amount of space and design. I've been here almost 3 years. It's in a nice quiet area minutes away from the freeway and the building is very safe. The management and administrative staff especially Luiza liliana do a wonderful job. she is super friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. They host lots of fun events parties,we feel very well taken care of and happy at Avalon ;) The maintenance staff are also great. I would recommend Avalon Silicon Valley Sunnyvale to anyone looking for a really nice apartment. It's in a completely safe neighborhood and the building is beyond secure.
This review is mostly about the recent increase in the rent, apartment has good community amenities and decent appliances in the unit, though they need some upgrade and people in the leasing office are generally good. My lease is expiring in a month and I was "offered" 12 month lease renewal by increasing my rent by ~$700 from $1915 to $2580 or month on month rent of $5800. I really want to see the person who comes up with these numbers. I heard from my friend that there is no rent control here (in Sunnyvale) so they just come up with obscene amount and put it as "Market Demand". Be careful and think again before leasing here if you want to stay here quite longer, you might think you are getting good deal when compared with other apartments (and for the amenities) and you will feel the real catch only when your lease expires.
I lived there for 5 months, had to move because of work, but it was excellent. Very quiet, facilities were great. The pool and hot tub were always in operation and my car was very secure in the underground parking garage. No complaints at all...really enjoyed living there and would move back if I had the opportunity. Loved the fact there was no smoking on the entire property and really enjoyed the fireplace on cool evenings.
The biggest issue i have with them is keys. I rent a 2b2b here but the leasing office only give you ONE copy of clicker and fob. I recently lost my mail box key and request a copy. They definitely have bunch copies as i had couple roommates moved out and all returned keys to them but they charge me $25 for it. The apartment is not that great neither so be aware!
7 months ago it was car break ins. 5 months ago it was storage units being broken into. 3 months ago, cars were being stolen out of secured parking garages. Now, apartments are being broken into in broad daylight. We've warned the leasing office for 8.5 months about a door which has no security fob protection, is virtually open to the south bound 101 and which provides free and easy access to ANYBODY from the 101, and we've been told multiple times, "Oh, we are on that...we're going to fix that." In 8.5 months, they have replaced two water fountains and repaired planter boxes that were leaking green sludge into the stairwell to the basement...but that door has remained unlocked and unfixed. In the meantime, cars have been stolen and apartments have been burglarized. Tenants with kids have to worry about their apartment being broken into now during the middle of the day, or their car being burglarized during the middle of the day in a "secure" garage. Anybody looking at Avalon Silicon Valley, GO ELSEWHERE. Between Lawrence Station apartments, and the plethora of top shelf, honest, clean new apartments in Santa Clara,Sunnyvale, and Mountain View, you would be insane to lease here. The staff cares little for personal security, and is more interested in tending to water fountains than they are dealing with actual security issues that threaten their tenants.
