Cindy moved us in back in 2009, and was pleasant and helpful. The current manager is the exact opposite. Every time that I’ve had a question or concern, management is hostile. When we initially moved in we were told that our building was smoke free, and that residents were not allowed to smoke near the buildings. I’m sympathetic towards smokers, but I have allergies and asthma, so a smoke free environment was important in making a decision about where to live. Since we moved in the smoking rules have not been enforced, and now the building is no longer smoke free. We have a nice neighbor below us, but he is a heavy smoker and now our apartment reeks of cigarettes. There is nothing we can do about this other than wait until our lease is up and move. We also have a neighbor who is a veteran in his 60’s who has had his car egged literally dozens of times. Other people’s cars have been hit as well, but management refuses to do anything at all despite repeated requests from multiple residents. They are hostile and argumentative when talking about the problem, and entirely unwilling to help their tenants at all. I have never seen such poor service. The apartments are sub-par at best. Our walls, flooring, doors, etc. are all made of the cheapest grade material, and is falling apart. The maintenance man, Rick, is very professional and helpful. He is over-worked though because of the poor quality of the apartments. The walls, floors, and ceilings are very thin, and you can hear every single thing from your neighbors (even if they're trying to be quiet). Our ceiling shakes when our upstairs neighbors walk, and when they run their sink or shower it is loud enough to wake you from a deep sleep, interrupt a conversation, or keep you from hearing the TV. Whenever we have guests, they comment on how loud it is. I have never been in a louder apartment. I cannot emphasize enough how dissatisfied we are with Battleground Oaks. I do not recommend it to anyone for any reason, and cannot wait to move out.

I have lived at Battleground Oaks for a little over a year. I moved in even after reading the other negative reviews. The management staff is the best I have ever encountered while being a renter. They always go above and beyond for each of their tenants. The maintenance staff is unbelievable and the overall grounds are beautiful. BG Oaks has a great pool, a fitness center, a tennis court, and they even let you rent movies for free from the office. The location cannot be beat either. Walking distance to three of the big city parks, Wal-Mart, the Rush, and Monterrey's. With that being said, the true testimonial to this place is the fact that tenants have been here for many many years. As I said before I have been here over a year and I have seen very few move out. This place has something for everyone, but most importantly the people running these apartments really make this place a home. They are always willing to help you and are always warm and welcoming. When my lease came up I didn't hesitate to renew, and I know my neighbors were the exact same way. My wife and I had a month to find a place when we moved here and we literally looked at every apartment complex in Greensboro. After meeting Cindy, Rick, and Connie and just stepping foot into the apartment we knew we were home. I would recommend Battleground Oaks to anyone.
