For the money we pay for the rent here you would think the up keep would be better. Our trash area is disgusting. People not breaking down boxes so people throw their trash anywhere they want. Then the birds, Fly's and bees come around. Cannot even sit on balcony unless you want dove at by the birds or stung by the bees. Myself and several others have called and nothing is done about it. I finally had the trash pick up guy help me this morning tear down boxes and out things in the trash barrel so they could be taken. DONT MOVE HERE

I I'm calling out the last 3 reviews as bogus. "lanie shockley, maria g, and barbara aquino" All one month ago. All 5 stars. I lived here for one year and the apartments aren't bad at all. I lived on the 3rd floor and the high ceilings and fireplace were wonderful. The staff. Melinda was very nice and very helpful. Always took the time to work with us on any issues we had no matter how small. The other lady was just a cranky old lady most of the time. I could never tell if she was being genuine or just wanted me out of her office. If you caught her on a good day you would be helped but toward the end of our lease she took a hands off approach and melinda took most of our issues on herself. We saw probably 3 different maintenance crews in our year there so commenting on this seems pointless. The last crew would leave equipment(acetylene torches, electric tools, etc) out for kids to get their hands on. Not the brightest bunch. Nothing really needed fixing while we were there. The central air worked great and the hot water was always hot. We had our own washer and dryer. We had our differences with the staff on how some things should be handled but for the most part our stay at the bluffs was a good one. I personally got kind of rowdy one night (loud music with the porch door wide open around 10 pm) and lindy came up and asked me to turn it down. I called the next day to apologize and she was nice about it and understood. It was a one time thing and they were very nice about it. MAKE SURE YOU WRITE YOUR APT NUMBER ON YOUR DOG POO BAGS. This sounds silly but we were accused of not picking up after our dogs multiple times. I don't know if they just can't tell the difference between a female dog pissing and taking a dump or if they are just getting bad information from fellow residents. Write your number on your bag that way when you are accused of said acts, you can go dig out the proof out of the doggy bag waste bin that is probably overflowing. Lots of kids at this complex when I left. I don't mind kids at all. What I do mind is children leaving bikes and scooters in the walkpath. I can't tell you how many I moved off the sidewalk to the grass. We had two dogs and hung a few things so we patched the holes and they said they would paint over the patches and have the carpets cleaned or replaced so we just vacuumed really well and called it good. No sense in shampooing carpet that will be replaced. They took a fair amount from our deposit and I had zero issue with the final amount we got back. From one young couple with two dogs, this place is a good place to live but temporary. A stepping stone not a home.

I am very, very happy with The Bluffs Apartments. Not only is the management wonderful people I have ever seen, but the neighbors are great. It's hard to make friends in such a transient atmosphere yet you do here. I appreciate my time here at The Bluffs!

RUN THE OTHER WAY.....I moved into these apartments and not long afterward they were bought by an out of town company called Lynd and their slogan is Conscious Living, their actions say otherwise in a big way. This new company based out of Texas, has consistently harassed the residents, myself and all of my neighbors. When they first took over everyone was given a paper to call for building maintenance, I called to have an item fixed and was speaking to a call center in India. The problem never got taken care of even after 5 phone call to the leasing office, until one of my family members fell almost hurt themselves. The harassment and bad attitudes of the new leasing staff happens on a daily basis; from the new office staff beating on the wrong door of an apartment to serve a 3 day notice and then belittling and arguing with the tenant when they tried to explain that they had the wrong building, to raising rents ($250.00) of individuals who have been here for years, to attempting to change terms of the lease and insisting that people not have BBQs on the property. The management has opted for a much "safer" approach and are now putting all of the BBQs in storage in garage unit 66 (I don't even see how that type of a hazard could even be legal), to refusing to take any responsibility and told the tenant "that was his problem" when the painting company they hired painted his brand new black truck the disgusting orange they have now painted the apartments, that man had to call the Police and file a complaint and they will be going to court, to yesterday when I came home from work to see a notice on my door and that of all my neighbors, stating that Lynd would no longer accept personal checks and that we have to pay our rent via money order or using their online system. No one has been given instruction how to even access the online system and I think of all the elderly living here, how are they going to manage paying their rent online when most of them that I've talked to don't even have a computer. How are people going to make these arrangements when we have only received a 5 day notice that this will be going into effect? This seems like a prejudice approach to the elderly and those who don't use computers. It appears that the Lynd is working very hard to have their residents leave so they can raise rents. I have never been late with my rent or had any other problems other than their building not being to code or safety standards, yet I am treated with such rudeness when I call the leasing office. It's sad to see people treat others this way. 12-31-12 Update Now we are being charged for water & trash even though when I signed a lease I was told that it was included! What will these heartless people do next? Renter BEWARE this is a horrible out of state company who thinks that they are operating in Los Angels!
