We worked with Sarah and tangentially Nicole with UrbanIDM to find housing at East12Lofts. When we identified a unit that we were interested in, I was promised that we had first dibs on the apartment by Sarah; the next day, I learned that the apartment was rented out when I came by a second time with my s/o, despite Sarah's earlier statement. Then, a week later, Sarah emails me saying that the person who had sniped the apartment initially had failed to submit a deposit in time and that the unit was available again. I stop by again to make sure things are suitable, and am assured again by Sarah that my application is enough to hold the apartment until the office reopens on later in the week for application processing. Hours later, Sarah calls me back saying that the original applicant - while outside the 24-hour execution to rent timeframe - submitted the security deposit and that the unit in question was yet again not available anymore. I don't know what game they're playing over at UrbanIDM, but fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. In Sarah's defense, they seem significantly understaffed and can hardly meet the demands of their current residents much less prospective ones. UrbanIDM's apparent desperation for people to fill vacant units leaves them bereft of customer service and keeping their word. The way both Sarah and Nicole disparaged/discounted some of the online feedback for East12Lofts from previous/current tenants during our initial tour was an early warning sign that I had the misfortune of giving the benefit of the doubt to. Instead, we've wasted nearly 10 hours of cumulative time working with folks who appeared sincere and professional but whom were untruthful and playing at some sort of "gotcha" game. Prospective tenant beware.
