Twice lived. The complex is pretty nice. Sad the hottibe never really worked. The amenities are nice and prices are a little high. However this is one of the nicest complexes for the price they do offer in the area

DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE SIGNING! Overall, this is an okay complex. There are no registered offenders in the immediate area. The building and grounds are generally kept in decent order. The apartments are generally clean and nice. The maintenance team is respectful and courteous, and does a good job--once they finally get around to you. However, you pay through the nose for the privilege of living at Camellia Trace; and for that enormous amount of rent, dealing with the following concerns is unacceptable: 1) MANAGEMENT is not consistently communicative or responsive and most of them didn't give the vibe that they are there to serve their residents or that the residents are even on their list of top 5 priorities. The office phone regularly went unanswered when tenants called the office during business hours; voicemail messages were rarely returned--you have to just keep calling until someone finally answers the phone (6-10 times was average.) Yes, you basically have to pester them to get anything addressed. 2) PET WASTE is constantly all over the few green areas the complex has. You literally have to look when you take each step to avoid getting into dog crap. That situation, therefore, makes it very difficult to let your kids go play in the green areas (assuming that you're a parent who actually supervises your kids... see #3 below) for fear of them getting covered in feces! It's a shame because the green area could be really nice if management had the desire or the cajones to actually do something about the pet waste problem. 3) RESIDENTS' CHILDREN RUN WILD--they are constantly playing in the parking lots and generally running wildly unsupervised throughout the entire complex--sometimes until 10 or 11 at night. It's completely unsafe for the children (ummm, where are their parents?) and unsafe, with a potential for legal liability for the rest of the residents trying to drive in and out of the complex. Again, management had no control over the situation and made only feeble attempts to take the reigns. 4) PARKING IS TERRIBLE! There just aren't enough spaces for the number of residents who live there. Management did attempt to solve the problem by building a new parking lot behind one of the buildings, but it hasn't helped at all. You can arrive home before 5:30 p.m. on any given evening and have to park 1-3 buildings away from your own building. Again, do your research. Camellia Trace isn't the worst complex in town, but it definitely has its problems--especially for the cost of living there. Prospective renters need to be aware of the issues and go into a lease at Camellia Trace being as informed as possible.

I lived there for four years. When I first moved in I loved living there. I felt safe and management was always very helpful. However, over the past two years things have gone downhill. The management may act friendly when you go to pay your rent but when it comes to anything else, they could care less. The maintenance crew is great...once they get around to your request....it may take them a couple of days/weeks to get to you though. They brag about a fitness center. The fitness center where the bike has been broken for over 8 months. The two treadmills that are available make terrible noises and sound like their about to fall apart. One of the TVs hasn't worked since I moved in FOUR YEARS AGO and there are no remote controls so if you're too short to reach the TV...too bad for you. I really would NOT recommend moving into these apartments. Plus, you can find something MUCH cheaper for your money. A one-bedroom apartment is going to run you about $755 a month. Find a house to rent for less than that and I guarantee you'll be much happier!

We moved into these apartments when we moved here from Michigan in 2004. The apartments are beautiful, clean and have some great features. Several problems: Management was terrible in the office, they didn't care if you were having problems. The kids from the trailer park behind the complex sneak into the pool area at all times of night, skinny dipping, drinking, smoking and being loud. Maintanance did not keep up on dog poop, there were people who did not clean up after their pets and in some areas the smell was unbearable! We had a dog and cleaned up after her EVERY time, but our neighbor did not....could be a great place to live if they changed management.
