I love the dog park and how pet friendly they are. You don't find that a lot around Athens. They really like your pet and have treats in the office. It's private but close enough to get to campus.

When I moved in half of the outlet's didn't work. They also got my lease wrong the first time I made it online. They also kept putting my roommates mail into my mailbox. Which I wouldn't mind but she has time sensitive mail and I don't check my mailbox that often. They also didn't tell us how to open the guest gate or what the button is for in the bedrooms. I don't really care about the gates but they break probably once a month is not more. But the apartments them selves are not bad. I am missing the plug to my bathtub and the sink drain is messed up. Other than calling the office, I don't even know how o report a noise complaint at night since they close. Also on my lease it said 495 INCLUDING UTILITIES and now they charging for it so... yeah what is that? I definitely do not want to live here again.

My apartment itself looks so nice and new, and I love how spacious it is. The pool, gym, and grounds are all beautiful. I rely on the shuttle and athens transit to get to campus which has been working out very well for the most part. When we had to ride the blue shuttle with broken air conditioning that was pure torture and I felt so bad for the bus driver. I have been disappointed with the night shuttle though. It was advertised as running on thursday, friday, and saturday nights but it doesn't actually run on all those nights and there is no notification at the bus stop or over email letting us know.

Abbey West is probably the worst place you can live in Athens. They have old, crummy furniture - the couch is hard and too small for anyone to sit on (I am only 110lbs and can barely sit there comfortably), my bed has been broken since I've moved in and they refuse to fix it, the plumbing sucks and you have to clean the toilets at least once a week otherwise you'll get a ring around it. Sometimes the bathroom faucets give off a bad smell when you first turn them on. The walls are paper thin, and I can hear my roommate's phone vibrate in the mornings. The front gate is almost always broken, and if you plan on taking the shuttle, DON'T. It's broken down at least 7 times a month and there have been multiple times my roommates or I have been stranded on campus because the shuttle dropped us off and then broke down. Also unless Steve is driving the shuttle to campus, you're 9/10 times going to be late to class. While applying to live at Abbey West (through move-in day), they have lost all of my roommates' applications/leases/proof go home owner's insurance at least 2-3 times. The printer is always broken at the clubhouse, so don't think you can print out your essays or lab reports for class there. Also if you plan on taking summer classes, BEWARE because they kick you out during them so you will probably be homeless for a week or two before you can move into your new place (which you will, because once living at Abbey West, you will realize you made a huge mistake not listening to this review). ***Also, Abbey West employees get on review sites and make false reviews about the apartment complex to make people want to move there. DO NOT BE FOOLED. There ARE, however, some good things about Abbey West. For instance, the night shuttle which runs downtown has an amazing driver (Robin). Her, along with the maintenance men who come within 24 usually to fix this rundown shanty town are the only blessings in our lives while living in this wretched place. They will be the only two things I miss. When you take the tour, it will seem like it is an amazing place to live, this is not the case. You have been warned.

Safe, Aesthetic, and in a great place. A short drive from most things in athens. Unfortunately, it's not 3 minutes away from campus, so you can't sleep in until 7:50 for your 8AM classes and expect to make it on time, but that's really not that much of a problem. Room size is a bit small for what you're paying, too. Otherwise, this place is great.
