Great layouts, magnificent views, well-maintained and attentive management and courteous and helpful concierge. Rents are not cheap but Portside has larger than average apartments. I have renewed twice. Only downside is tenant ends up paying heat in winter as well as a/c in summer.

Too far from the PATH train and the apartments are really old for the monthly rates. Amenities are nice, but they offer all of the same amenities at Windsor (right next door) at about the same rates. Also, they need to have extended leasing hours. People have jobs. Who can get off at 5PM in NYC and be there by 6?

Please look elsewhere. Over priced apartments with snobby management staff and poor construction. Close to $400 dollars in electricity bill for a one bedroom is not exactly the kind of money one would like to spend on top of regular $2200 rent. And one of the non-advertised features include "Eavesdropping of your friendly neighbors conversation from your bedroom when you are about to sleep". Would like to give a negative rating if I could but google is being nice and not letting me go below one *.

This place is over expensive rip off and not worth the price. Lived here for 1 year. Major cons 1. Steep rent increase at the end of the year. No rationale for the increase. The Apt’s are already above the market price. 2. Angled and odd shaped living rooms. It’s hard to arrange furniture. 3. Parking issues. If you are in the Washington St address, you can not apply for a street parking permit. Have to buy the expensive $225 per month parking they offer.

Do not move here. Like another poster said- they do not care about tenants! They do absolutely nothing about noise problems which they have. A dog barked constantly for hours on end- 7:30am to about 6:00pm because it was left alone (I like dogs and can handle barking this was crazy). Multiple people complained and management did nothing. It was finally reported to the Jersey city ACC and police and the dog vanished from the building. They refuse to replace broken AC units - we have had 5 "fixed" units from the early 90s get swapped out in 6 months because ours keep breaking. The maintenance will ente your apartment with out permission and the manager will pretend general notices that only apply to some residents qualify as notice they were going to enter your apartment. Better hope a dog does not love above you- if it pees on the deck an the owner washes it it raines down on you and your property because of poor drainage. However, that can be reported to the health department. On the plus side- great location and views. Ferry to lower manhattan goes to your door. Maintenance guys are SO nice as are the doormen. Moving when leas is up to a nicer building in the area with similar rents and never looking back!!!!
