THESE APARTMENTS SHOULD BE NAMED "TRAFFIC CHASE APARTMENTS" The complex practically sits on top of INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 55...GOOGLE THIS PROPERTY BEFORE YOU VISIT IT. It would have been great if some the flowers the staff plants in the spring month WOULD ABSORB THE OUTRAGEOUS TRAFFIC SOUNDS BUT OF COURSE THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE.. The highway 55 is right next to the property. In all the time I lived there my bedroom windows were never opened...no windows were opened for some air etc....and the apartments are not anything to brag about.....the never ending traffic sounds were just too annoying. The noise has increased greatly since I moved in.....and from what I hear continues to do so. My allergies also became worse.....lived on Benadryl due to exhaust fumes from trucks, buses, trailers. So actually opening the windows if I could would serve no purpose but allow fumes and dust to access the rooms. The complex may have easy access to 55 and route 141 but there is a fine line between convenience and the very annoying traffic noise that this easy access creates. I just think there are other places to live that are more quiet, lower rent, and offers a better quality of life. The first night I slept at my new place I just listened for a couple of fantastic minutes... NO TRAFFIC NOISE......FIRST NIGHT I SLEPT WELL IN A LONG TIME! Explore other options that are less expensive, still conveniently located etc.
Currently live there and it is OK, most reviews do point out a good point of the traffic noise and I do hear most of the louder vehicles zipping past 55. It would be nice if they put up a sound barrier wall like they do in St. Louis County 270 areas. Anyways, just renewed the lease but having second thoughts. We live in the newer building in the 2 bedroom style. It is in the 900 building on the second floor. We do have one child and of course I totally understand that at an apartment, you WILL hear random noises from walking, to bathrooms flushing and other everyday and night noises. I for one UNDERSTAND that this is life when living in an apartment. However as of lately, the neighbor downstairs, (which is the only one) has got to complain about little mediocre things like, Don't do laundry after 10:30 (this is on a Saturday night), and other pointless things that everyone seems to not mind. This to me is very annoying considering that we can hear their grand daughter or whoever the little girl is to them, yelling, crying, and etc early in the day and even at night. I don't mind it but it seems unfair that they can make the noise they want, but complain at the minor noise we make. This is why, if you going to rent an apartment, expect to hear noises of such. Don't want to hear noises? MOVE TO A HOUSE, that simple. So if you read this and your that type of neighbor, STOP, and move into a trailer or house because this is an apartment complex, not a farm house! Expect everyday noises, expect people late night doing things, not all people work 1st or second shift, don't like it? Stay out of the apartment world. Overall, nice staff, they handle calls fast, and Tom is very nice. Cons: intolerable neighbors, unless you get lucky and get friendly ones that don't mind you doing your laundry late!
I've lived there 2 years and am only moving due to work. I've never had an issue with the traffic, although my unit was in Phase 2 towards the back...so the traffic issue may just depend on which building you are in. I've never been able to hear any noise from the neighbors - the buildings may be a bit older, but i'll take older solid (quiet) construction any day over the paper thin walls the newer places have! The apartments run a bit on the small side, but I would be more apt to call them 'cozy'. The pool is pristine and actually has a deep end, not just a 3 ft wading pool like some places have. The owner really does know and remember your name any time you stop by the office, and they are always quick to respond with any problems. I agree with a previous poster about being on the 3rd floor and having a minor wasp problem...might be trees. The residents seem to be more of a mature level, I've never seen or heard any disturbances at the place. Overall, I would definitely recommend this complex to people, though you may wish to verify how close your building is to the highway before signing the papers. Also, another perk i have thoroughly enjoyed is the package service they provided. Any time I had a UPS/Fed-ex type delivery and was not going to be there to receive it, I could have the delivery dropped at the office, and the office would (with my permission) bring it over and put it in my apartment. No more missed deliveries for me!
I am unable to recommend this apartment complex due to the very poor location. It is right next to a major interstate highway 55---which means a level of unrelenting traffic noise 24/7. Even at night I could still hear the RUMBLE OF TRUCKS, THE WHIZZ OF MOTORCYCLES, even with all the windows closed. If you do decide to still check out the place, I recommend that you park your car at the entrance, near the pool, get out and LISTEN to the noise of passing vehicles. Think about living with that noise every single day......!
I would give them 6 stars! The entire staff is pleasant and efficient! I would never rent anywhere else. We relocated to St Louis for work for a year and found them. They have been a blessing. We came from owning and were not looking forward to renting and it has been so enjoyable renting from Fox Chase! I would not look anywhere else, rent with Fox Chase they are definately the BEST! Thanks guys! S. H.
