We love living at Huntington Vista. We have been her almost four years. The staff in the office is the best. They are quick to respond to any issues and always polite. They make time to help out their residents. The people living in the community are all very nice. The grounds are always clean and well kept. I recommend to anyone looking for a place to rent come check out the community. You will be amazed.

Our overall experience has been a bit up and down…but the new management team is amazing and has really turned this place around…Wednesday night food trucks, excellent response time for repairs, the new and upgraded pool, and living one mile from the beach. I would recommend this to friends.

This is the worst apartment complex ever!!!! When we first moved in our entire apartment smelled like paint since all of our cabinets have been painted over so many times and as the time went on it eventually chipped everywhere all over everything. We also had our bikes stolen from right outside our apartment door and they were locked up, we complained to the office and all they said was "do you have renters insurance?" This was so infuriating since of course we have insurance but that's beside the point, they don't even have a bike rack so you can lock your bike and if you live on the bottom floor all of your belongings are exposed so there really is no other way to protect them unless you store them inside your apartment. Wait there's more, we had mold in our shower and all management did was re-cock it over and over. Our dining room window was not secure and we asked to have it fixed because it was easy to break into and all they did was buy a cheap part from probably home depot which didn't even work. Security here is non existent, the front gate never works and management does nothing about it so if you have valuables beware. This place is horrible with terrible customer service even though they swear they try, don't consider moving here look elsewhere.

Deciding to move here was a mistake. I complained to the office about dog urine raining down on my patio from above. Urine-soaked dog pads are a common occurrence on my back patio. And Huntington Vista office staff did nothing. I submitted complaints 3 times in a period of 4 months about this issue. I was told that the neighbors upstairs aren't suppose to have pets, as they didn't have them on their lease. Still nothing happened and the problem persisted. Now, I'm being retaliated against by the neighbor (who is personal friends with members of the staff) with aggressive, hostile comments from the balcony. The same neighbors also have a cat (not on their lease, I'm told by the management). They now intentionally stomp around at all hours of the day and night because they "don't like me". Additionally, I was held against my will in a locked office by the manager to "explain herself" when I submitted a complaint about her ineffectiveness to UDR Corporate in Denver. She then told me, after I complained to corporate about being held against my will, that I was no longer to have any direct contact with the office staff. Why are the upstairs neighbors favored by the staff, to violate their lease terms? At my expense (dealing with animal urine raining down on my BBQ and bikes)? How am I now the problem? I will contact the Fair Housing Board about this situation. I'm the bad tenant because I've complained, and now I'm being punished. This isn't all. The lighting in the complex is dim and it does not feel safe to walk around the complex at night. As a single woman who lives by herself, I definitely don't appreciate this factor. Parking is always a problem, and the parking rules and regulations are not enforced. The laundry facilities are filthy, too. I've always paid rent on time. And I've never had a serious problem living here until the situation with these horrible neighbors and the incompetent office management staff. Now, I'm fearful for the issues that I will have to deal with for telling the truth. I've been retaliated against by the insane neighbor who started all of these problems with the dog urine. She is a friend of the management, by the way. There was a nasty note left on my door in retaliation for posting the truth on Yelp. Luckily, I've found another place to reside and will remove myself from this situation. It's been very stressful and I'm looking forward to the relief of not having to deal with this any longer. I URGE YOU --- DO NOT MOVE HERE! UDR is a horrible management company. You'll see: Search Google reviews for Huntington Vista Apartments in Huntington Beach, CA. You'll see that I'm not alone in this. UPDATE: Moved out. In the interim, went to retrieve some personal items from the apartment and the door would not unlock (broken). Called in to complex maintenance. They came and fixed it. When I came back the next day, I saw that the management TAPED MY NEW KEY ON THE FRONT DOOR!!! How completely moronic! Please let this be a testament to how unprofessional and stupid the staff is at Huntington Vista. Never, never again.
