I've rented apartments in Lion's Creek twice now and lived there a total of a little over three years. For the most part, I have little reason for complaint. You can have pets, they were very reasonable on returning deposit funds the first time I moved out, I'm not hassled over things, the neighbors are for the most part respectful, the office staff are usually polite, all is generally well. The apartments are kept fairly up to date and right on par given the prices for rent. I'm not happy with their treatment, or lack thereof, of a few recent items. I am in the process of buying a home and have elected to rent on a month to month basis. This is a perk that many apartments don't allow so I'm pleased it's in my agreement with them. I was told my rent would go up $75/month as there is not a lease in place and I'm happy to pay the extra money to enjoy lease free renting. However, a few days after turning in my rent check (with the additional $75) in the outside drop box as I always do, I received a notice on my door that I was $10 short in my rent. Ten dollars. Not a big deal so I didn't make a stink about it. However, it was not what we agreed on. I've now been told that there was an increase in rental rates and that accounts for the $10. That's fine. Please just communicate that. This month, I went to pay my rent on Saturday the 1st and there was no drop box. The box that has been there for at least 10 years (the first time I lived there) was gone. No note explaining why or where, just gone. I'm not home when the office is open. I've always relied on the box to pay my rent. I returned Sunday, no box. I returned this morning, no box. Today is the 3rd. Rent is late if not received by the 5th. I called the office today to inquire and they said they're getting a new box that drops directly into the building installed and that for now, I have to drop it off during office hours or mail it. I let them know I'm not able to drop it off during office hours. She said I would have to mail it. I asked if it would be counted as late and incur late fees if received after the 5th. She wasn't able to give me a yes or a no. I asked her what other alternatives I have and she said none. She said "We'll just hope it gets here in time." I asked her what the consequence of it not getting there in time would be and she was unable to tell me. Really? I get that she can't say they'll waive the fee because that's like giving a tenant a license to be late. But really? They didn't think that this would be an issue? Rinky dink. Again, COMMUNICATE. If you want to play it that way, fine - just PLEASE communicate to your residents and all of this could be avoided. If you're going to change the ways in which you accept payment, you should warn your tenants ahead of time so they can make plans. And if you're answering the phone in the office and can't say anything other than "I don't know" don't go further and have the audacity to say that the box has been down for some time now. Why would your tenants have any reason to notice the box was gone three weeks ago? Just because as an office employee you walk by it every day doesn't mean everyone who lives there should know. I never even drive by the office except to drop off a rent check. And don't go on and say that everyone else has been able to figure it out. One - Good for them. Two - I doubt that this is really true. Three - It's not that I can't "figure it out." Four - I'm not everyone else. Five - That statement helps no one and just makes me think less of you. Lion's Creek, you've done well for so long. Why must we part this way? Is it because I'm leaving? Has the management really changed for the worse? Have I offended you in some way? I'm not sure which one I should hope for. Regardless of the reason, it's sad. Hoping these are isolated incidents, Emily

I hate this place. Only positive is rent an okay price, less then fair for what you have to put up with. The gym is worthless nothing works the dog park was closed all year for reseeding the tennis court is over ran with grass there is never enough parking and they will not assign parking spots. when it came time to move out after my lease was over I called in to ask if I needed to give notice even though I was out of my lease date period and was paying month to month. When I called they told me 30 day notice and they would note the account. When I paid the proration of the rent they told me they had no knowledge of meowing out and it was a 45 day notice and it had to be in writing. Who gives 45 day notice when paying month to month. My rent was raised mysteriously 10 dollars and I didn't even notice tell it was time to move out from the contract I signed. I am currently paying for 45 days when I don't even live here. I do have some damages to the home that I'm sure they will try to charge me 10 times the actual cost. My neighbor hated this place so much they paid to break their lease and when they gave the notice of doing so they said they never received the notice. And tried to charge them over 3000 for damages when I had seen their apartment it was better when they moved out then when they moved in

The apartments are okay, but the construction is sub-par so your electric bill will be a bit high since the windows and doors don't seal well and the insulation is obviously thin. The front office staff is great as long as you are in the process of signing a lease otherwise they don't have a lot of time for you. Get everything in writing because stories and promises change from person to person and from visit to visit...fore warned is fore armed! You can paint the apartments, but you have to paint them back when you leave (your cost). Maintenance is good s long as it's a simple fix....though they try to fix everything! There are better places to live, but the location is nice.

I don’t suggest these apartments for anyone. First off, I was shown a nice model. It had upgraded appliances, as well as a nice bathroom. I was excited to move in. However, my actual apartment was a different story & it was very dirty when I moved in. My appliances were outdated & cabinets were so old that they were coming apart. The fronts of the cabinets were peeling off! The hallways were always disgusting. It was just gross. The utilities at this complex are ridiculous too. Water rates were raised, and the bill averaged to be about $85/mth. The electric bill ran about $200 during the winter & about $125 any other time, which I can only assume is from the old appliances. Anyways, we moved about 7 months into our lease & bought a house. Instead of breaking the lease & owing them a ton of money, we decided to just go ahead and pay them the rest of the rent. We also had to keep out utilities turned on. Even when we weren’t living there, our water bills were never lower than $60 & the electric was at least $50. When our lease was almost up, I called up to the office to see what color to paint the apartment back to. The lady told me “white”. I bought white FLAT paint & repainted all the rooms. I also thoroughly cleaned everything, as I am very OCD about things. Well, just got our security deposit notice and I am beyond frustrated with this company! We supposedly did $700 in damages! They charged us $65 for repainting the walls because I used “semi-gloss” paint! As stated earlier, I used FLAT paint! I was charged numerous little charges for things, such as the drip pan, being dirty. I clearly wrote on the move-in form that these items were dirty/old/worn down! Why am I getting charged for things that were destroyed when I moved in? My apartment looked better when I moved out than when I moved in. Plus, they prorate rent here according to the condition that the apartment is in. If my rent was the lowest available at the time because our apartment was the lowest quality, it is not fair to charge me for things that should be replaced from normal wear and tear!

This is place is horrible. Hallways smell terrible due to someone's pet and the smell drifts into the separate apartments. The staff is rude. It sucks. All of it, bills being outrageous, staff, insulation, size, everything. Do not go here! Horrible!!!
