At First tuet checked me into one room that was already completely booked. Then I got an other room but I could only stay there for one night and had to check out by 11 am and check in later again. That's very anoying !! This hostel is quiet pricy but nevertheless not good organiced - I don't like that! Rooms are clean but not as fancy as indicated on the website. Would not recommend to go there - check out Moore Hostel witch is only one block away. Much better service for lower price there.

Overall this hostel is good value for money. Like any hostel it has its positives and negatives. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend you to stay here if you're on a budget. It's bright and clean with a good atmosphere and location. The good: - Location is good. Very close to the L train into Manhattan (when it's running). - Trendy atmosphere. This is a hipsters paradise. Fitted plaid shirts and fedoras everywhere. - The free breakfast is decent but they close it up around 9:30. I'm enjoying my Frosted Flakes right now. - There are cool bikes to rent. - The backyard commons area is pretty cool. It's really nice in the morning. - Everyone is super friendly and rather polite regarding my snoring. - Every room has independent air conditioning. Definitly needed in the summer months. - There is a small locker for each person in the rooms. Make sure to bring a small padlock. - The shared bathroom/shower rooms are always reasonably clean. The bad: - Single ply toilet paper is never ok! - The prison beds are too squeaky for shared accomodations. The mattresses are clean and everything but you can hear every single shift and toss from your room mates in the night. - There is free wifi on every floor BUT users aren't limited in bandwidth. This means when three metal heads from Norway are sitting in the kitchen streaming HD youtube videos the internet is pretty much un-usable to everyone else. - There is only one of those half-fridge half-freezer things for everyone to share. Claim your space early! - The hostel is directly under the flight-path of either La Guardia or JFK. There's nothing the hostel can do about this but you should be aware. Thankfully it's the landing path and not the take-off path so the engines aren't running at full bore when they pass overhead.

Highly recommended. Friendly staff, along with services too good for the price. Will recommend to all friends and future visitors.

Great place to stay! I was there in 2011 and the staff was friendly, place was clean and easy access to the subway and food places. You can get a nice place to stay while in NYC without the prices you'd get downtown. I plan on staying there again when I get the chance to get a room there!

Very clean, close to the subway, friendly staff. The driver who was suppose to pick me up at the airport arrived like 1.5 hours later after I call them, but no major problems. The location is safe, but not full of services. Again, very clean, nice rooms with AC and good beds. Breakfast was ok. The location was safe (even on a sunday night). I wouldn't call it "beautiful" but it has its charm... Anyway, I would totally recommend it!
