Management is so lazy and cheap. All they care about is getting your money. 4 inches of sewage water in my basement right now made an emergency call for maintenance my call was ignored was told the pumper will be here Tuesday..... It's Saturday mean while anytime if anybody in my my building flushes the toilet, takes a shower , wash dishes or runs there washing machine the water ends up in my basement. You tell me what's fair market value for that.

PROS: Great neighborhood...animal friendly...close to Universities and hospitals...on the bus line...full basement with W/D hookups...maintenance is mostly responsive to requests CONS: The walls are thin so unless you have decent neighbors you'll get sick of them ( I can hear mine pee in the morning from my bedroom). Shoddy upkeep as far as the grounds are concerned. Gutters haven't been cleaned in the 3 years I've been here so the rain water just kind of pours down our back door and steps. Snow removal is a crap shoot and depends on which guy does it (we lose off-street parking spots to mounds of snow in the winter). The paper thin walls, lack of insulation and unsealed doors and windows mean your National Grid bill WILL be ridiculously high in the winter and likewise high in the summer if you expect to stay comfortable inside. (I was actually told that the reason our drywall cracked upstairs was because there's no insulation in the attic where the HVAC exits...really?!) You can tell the walls have been (poorly) painted over several times between tenants. The only ventilation in the bathroom is the window so in the winter it's a job keep the brown spots off the ceiling (unless of course you open said window and freeze). There is no range hood in the kitchen so: 1. the smoke alarm WILL go off EVERY time you cook/pre-heat the over etc. 2: everything in your kitchen will be covered in greasy cooking by-product and you will need to wipe things down (walls, fridge, cabinets etc) often. Basements get wet when it rains so your washer/dryer will have to be kept up on pallets which will grow mold on them and subsequently need to be replaced often...good luck with that. Also, on maintenance, don't expect them to actually fix anything. Much of the work they do appears to be patch work that will only get you through to the next time you have to call. On the bright side, it does appear that management is making some cosmetic upgrades in apartments as other tenants move out...quality remains to be seen. EDIT: 60 days written notice to move out or you WILL LOSE YOUR DEPOSIT...even if you call a month ahead for the renewal/intent to vacate paperwork and the office doesn't send it over and is closed every time you visit.

Many, many problems. Kitchen is so poorly laid out it's almost not functional. No range hood of any type, so when you cook the smoke detector goes off. No room or outlet for a microwave. A single 60 watt bulb in the middle of the room means the lighting is very poor. Hot water takes forever to get hot, even though each unit has its own hot water heater. There must be no insulation whatsoever, and the apartment is very drafty. Heat vent in living room is placed so that it blows into your face. Only one cable hookup in living room, none in bedroom. Walls seem like they are made of concrete, it's impossible to hang pictures on many. No window coverings. Significant temperature difference upstairs vs downstairs. Noisy inconsiderate neighbors- in warm weather they hang laundry outside, tying line to your railing. And the MICE. I've never lived anyplace where mice are such a big problem!

Its a shame, really. The apartment units are nice, or at least COULD be nice if they were properly maintained. When we arrived, our pipes in the basement were actually wrapped in old newspaper and wire to insulate them. The basement floods every time it rains and maintenance will not do anything about it. They said "Get pallets from us." However, every time we have asked for pallets we never get them. Our apartment shook violently due to a running toilet 4 units down, but we didn't know that was the cause for 2 YEARS. When we complained for the third time the office manager's response was, "Well, we has the City of Albany there to look at it. I don't know what else you want us to do." The office manager constantly defends the lazy and careless maintenance crew. Which has stolen jewelery and cash from our apartment. Not once did we receive an apology. We suspect mold in our apartment and the office refuses to send a professional over to inspect. They simply say "Nah, that's not mold. Don't worry about it." I won't worry. I have already called the Attorney Generals office.

Great Great location!!! Horrible Horrible Horrible Apartments!!!!! Basement leaked all the time and management never did anything about it. Insulation is non existent so your Grid Bill is out of control. I can hear everything going on in the neighbors apartment. For the price of rent these apartments should be better. Live somewhere else!!!
