I'm not one to post reviews but I feel I should for Magnolia Chase. My experience thus far has been great. For the amount of space and amenties you receive, there is no place better as far as pricing is concerned. The location is very conveinent, close to shopping malls and numerous bars, resturants, etc... The community is very quiet and clean and I couldn't be in a better place, expecially for the price and the amount of space. Go by and take a look for yourself. I lived there for 2 1/2 years before I was deployed but returned immediately once I got back stateside. It was like I never left. In comparison to apartments around that area, MCA has them beat hands down with space and pricing. The only downfall I would say is I would love to see a bigger gym and maybe a larger size pool.

I have never encountered such a rude person in my life! The property manager is so rude and unprofessional. She is nice to you until you sign those papers. She literally goes out of her way to be a biotch. I have so many examples of her rude behavior I don't even know where to begin! My brother is the nicest person in the world and she is rude to him too. I know 3 other people who live here who encountered the same problems. The apartments are nice and so is the maintence guy and the landscaper. My windows leak and porch door doesn't shut all the way. In my opinion the apartments are not worth the amount you pay esp since no utilites are included.

I love Magnolia Chase Apartments. Previous to moving here I was living in a newer (and thus nicer in some ways) apartment and while it was nice it does not compare to the total package of MCA. While MCA is a toucher older with some out of date features (i.e. cabinet color, linoleum flooring, textured ceilings) the overall space and layout are perfect for the price; big bedrooms, walk-in closets, big laundry area, and huge living room. My wife and I share a two bedroom apartment (one for sleeping and one for office) and love all the space, especially in the main living area. The greatest feature at MCA is how quite the units are. I have not heard a neighbor once since moving in. Not once. I have not been in another apartment in Va. Beach that I can say that about. I think MCA is a great choice for someone who wants a practical living space and is realistic about apartment living.

My girlfriend and I spent all night cleaning the apartment and EVERYTHING was spotless - including the fridge. In fact, even the management was impressed. Then I moved away... and got a BILL!!! Not only did they keep my deposit, they charged me nearly $800! See, my orders got messed up so I could only give about two weeks notice. Even active military are supposed to give 30 days notice or you pay pro-rated rent for the remainder of your time.... UNLESS you have lived there for more than a year. I lived there for three. When I called them on the phone, the condescending management read the 'clause' in my lease since I didn't have it in front of me at the time. When I read the lease they next day, I found that she had left out the next line "unless tenant has resided for more than 12 months". Dishonest. I plan to sue in small claims court for my FULL deposit back, and have them removed from the military's authorized housing list. Add to that, the fact that my 'alarm' hadn't worked in over a year and when it was reported to maintenance... they had no idea so they just unplugged it. The roof also leaked in the rain.
