This is my 3rd time living at Maribelle. If you keep to yourself and not bother anyone else its fine. I've never felt unsafe here. Drugs and all that are everywhere don't fool yourself. Mostly everyone that lives in my area are really nice Hispanic families the only bad thing about them is they make awesome smelling dinners and they don't share! If your not happy where you live move its that simple. Oh one thing I can complain is the parking sucks. My carport is 3 buildings over from where I live so I don't even use it and when I asked if I could get one that's closer they refused. That's the only bad thing I would have to say.
Bugs, Addicts, Junkies, THIS PLACE SUCKS!!!! Save haven for drug dealers Police live in te complex due to all the rampant crime and drug dealing that happens here daily. If you want to live in an unsafe bug infested environment then be stupid and live here and hate your life because that's what will happen will be your total regret!! DONT LIVE HERE
The apartments are pretty nice. Ours had new carpets which makes a big difference. There are a lot of drawbacks, though. The washer and dryer that came with our apartment are the cheapest, crappiest appliances ever. The washer wont start half the time, and I've tried to have maintenance come and do something about it, but its intermittent so they never see anything wrong. The dryer is tiny and takes forever to dry even a single towel. It constantly turns on and off which is confusing. When we first moved in, the dryer hookup was disconnected, leading to massive amount of water leaking from it. It took three maintenance appointments to figure that one out. Unfortunately, there is a shitload of mold growing under the washer because of this. And the washer and dryer take up half my closet space. And then there's just mold growing on my window sash, because the windows are ancient single pane, metal sash windows. The mold is growing because of the dryer problem and the fact that the fan in the bathroom sucks (it is not good at removing wet air). So mold grows in the bathroom a lot, too. I would use the laundry rooms on site but the closest one has been closed the whole 8 months I have lived here. I guess it makes sense because the maintenance crew doesn't get a lot done, so why would they get the laundry working. And then our dishwasher is pretty terrible, too. Tiny and old and makes a ton of noise. But it works okay. The layout of the kitchen isn't great in general. The other complaint I would share is that people living here are generally from a pretty low socioeconomic bracket so, people litter a lot, drive too fast around the complex, there's always people sitting in their cars in the parking lot for a long time, and the worst one for me is that nobody knows the difference between recycling and garbage.
No one civilized should live in that apartment complex. There are so many prostitutes, drug dealers, and dangerously mentally ill people there that it's not safe for big guys, let alone for families, with or without kids. The managers are corrupt and are more interested in evicting you and keeping your security deposit than fixing problems in one's apartment—we waited weeks for broken toilets, garbage disposals, and stoves to be fixed, and they were only fixed because we showed up 2x a day at Arvella's desk to complain. When I moved out, they sued me and didn't even have the courtesy to serve me—before I found out they had sued me the judgment was around $3K. Good luck collecting on that one. I was also attacked by an aggressive drug dealer who hung around my apt, preying on my wife–I told him to leave me and my wife alone and he hit me and we ended up fighting for 20 mins. He was a felon on parole and when his wife told the cops I hit him first the cops just laughed at him. I reported him to Arvella after that incident and last we heard, he and his stoned and drunk wife are still there, so you have them to deal with. Really, that place needs new management and a thorough cleansing by the SRPD to be habitable. So if you want to be attacked by drug dealers and sued when you leave, by all means, rent an apartment there. If you want to live a nice peaceful life find another place to live.
