Bad from the start. I was talking to Staci via email and I thought we were working out terms for me to rent a 2 bedroom apartment. She had said I could come in to look at floor plans and discuss other terms. I replied asking when and what time the very same day. NO RESPONSE! Almost a week later she emailed me to tell me she was on vacation and that the place I was looking into was no longer available and the next one was now 1 and a half months out... Why she wouldn't disclose that she wouldn't be available for so long or hand me off to someone that could have helped me shows that they lack common business practices that will reflect in the experience living there. PASS!

I've lived here since July of 2012. The rent is very reasonable for my large 2bdrm 2 bath. The staff has been friendly. The first time I did have a maintenance issue it did take some time to have fixed but when I pointed it out it was resolved quickly and all (the few) subsequent repairs needed have all been done within 24 hours. Even when my lease was due to be renewed they were reasonable with the increase and stayed inline with the current market. Overall I'm happy here. The apartment complex is clean and I feel safe. That is what is most important.

Nicole, you look like one of the office workers from Nov, 2011. I lived at Morning from 1991 - 1993 when Lupita managed it and was happy there even though it was difficult to find a parking space much of the time. We then bought a home (in Monroe) after our second child was born. Despite the increase of rowdiness and "gang" incidents after Lupita left I was considering moving back (divorce) in 2011 because the Monroe police are a good department and try to keep the community safe. I was not impressed with the attitude of the person I spoke to the first, or second time. As the other commenter stated the rents for the 2 bdrm at the end of 2011 was $900 a month. When I phoned about an apartment for May 2012 I was told the rent was now $1000.00 plus. Today I see it is over $1100.00 for the same apartment. This complex is 30 years old, a person now must pay ALL utilities (we never paid for W/S/G or basic cable in 1993) and they have raised the rent $200.00 in 2 YEARS ? CAN YOU AFFORD THAT? Look for less greedy landlords. It will save you moving expenses in the long term.

Nice, quiet, I love it here! Management *really* cleaned the place up compared to what it used to be like. The cabana is great, the grounds are kept very clean and tidy, neighbors are neighbors... Let's face it people, neighbors can get annoying, but everybody is different and lead their own little lives just like you and me. There are mature, adult ways to deal with problems, so grow a pair and take care of things rather than grumble like a baby about it on the internet. lol

This is a terrible complex where gangs of teenage drug-dealers roam around at night, the police are constantly arresting your neighbors, people play stereos at all hours and the management does nothing, rent increases are outrageous (12 to 20 per cent at lease renewal). Since Essex purchased the property, upkeep has fallen off significantly, and the staff are unprofessional and rude. When we moved out, the new lease "offer" we were presented with for our apartment was nearly $300/month higher than what Morning Run was advertising the exact same apartment for on Craig's List. They do not care about current tenants and retaining good tenants who are quiet and pay their rent on time. Avoid them!
