Mountain View Apartments has a Walk Score of 16 out of 100. This location is a Car-Dependent neighborhood so almost all errands require a car.
Offering a lifestyle that other's cannot. -- Mountain View is Knoxville's only boutique apartment community. Aside from the sign denoting its existence, most passers by would believe that it's a condominium community where the residents own their homes. The residents here take pride in their homes. From individual gardens to a friendly hello, the community's small and personal nature fools most who come to visit. -- These are not the common everyday floor plans either. Most standard apartments boast an open floor plan where the living room, dining room and kitchen are essentially one room. A Mountain View home offers personal space for each living purpose. Yet, there is a nice flow and airy feel to each home. -- The homes are attractive, the service is personal and the price is surprisingly affordable. Don't just rent, LIVE at Mountain View.

My friend and I moved into Mountain View from another state with all my stuff and no lease signed yet. The staff at Mountain View were amazing in getting all our paperwork ready and the maintenance staff got the town home ready really fast. They are very friendly there and have been consistently helpful. The appliances are older, but they work just fine and many apartments are in process of being updated. When I moved out after 2 years there, my roommate moved into a single bedroom there, so I've seen the new renovations - really nice! I've never heard my neighbors, there is always plenty of parking, they are pet friendly, and the area is great for walking! The only downside is that we have had issues with wood-roaches getting in. They come in when it gets really hot or wet outside and has nothing to do with cleanliness or lack of pest control. With the new renovations there is less of a problem. I would move back in if I was still living in Tennessee. This place had been a blessing!

The management has been very helpful and service is good. I have no complaints except for the relatively old appliances that are being provided in the apartments.

This has been a great place to live overall. Very quiet and safe place. They keep it in great shape. The parking can get pretty bad sometimes where I am at, but it's not horrible. I haven't hardly seen any bugs - There were some roaches when we first moved in, but haven't seen any since, and I've been here for a year. One thing that upset me is that they jacked up my rent a hundred dollars per month when they gave me my renewal sheet, which is about a 20 percent increase. Was able to talk them down slightly, but not much. I guess I can't complain much though, because they have yet to make me pay a pet deposit for my cat and dog. The appliances are very old, however we haven't had any problems with them. The staff and maintenance crew are all friendly and helpful. All in all, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

I don't even know if the last reviewer is reviewing the correct complex. I have NEVER had a problem with parking here. Our area often has 5 empty parking spaces around us. $35 for water? Pffft. Thats nothing. I'm guessing because we live don't live in the regular 1 bedroom apartments, we pay $52. Never had any problems with cars being broken into and neighbors or anyone else has never mentioned this, either. Never even seen anyone out at night. It's the safetest complex I've ever lived in. Most of the residents are older or young professionals. Which is awesome because there aren't teenagers (that I've ever seen) or loud babies and kids. Security officer? Didn't knew one existed. Didn't think we needed one. Maybe the last reviewer has the wrong apartment complex or perhaps has bad neighbors. I do agree they screw you on rent. It would probably be in a lot of peoples best interests to look at some of the other more modern apartments that are equal to or (very) less than the rent amount paid here. Last summer we had a huge probelm with a various amount of insects. It was pretty bad. I'm hoping when it starts getting warmer, this won't happen again because it makes the quality of living go way down. Maintenance is super fast and friendly. Office staff is okay. Appliances are vintage. But I've never had any issues with them. I also saw them before I moved in, so I knew before hand. Kind of stupid to complain about something that you knew about before signing the lease.

Well, let's start off with a few points here. First off, the parking is horrible! There is never enough parking and most of the lots are full at night, leaivng you to park away from your building and walking in the middle of the night. Also, there have been several cars that have been broken into and NOTHING has been done about it, not even notices sent out or anything! Nothing proactive has been done at all! Another negative about this complex is the water bill...every month each resident has to pay $35 for the water bill!!! What's this about? We might use $3 or $4 worth, but no matter how much we use or little we use, it's always $35!! That's a big rip off! Also, you would never know the difference between the security officer and a lump of coal...never seen her walk around or anything. The last comment is the price for the units...the appliances are from 1970 and the cabinets are from the 80's. They get you in on a 'special price' and then try to jack your rent up 20% after the first year. All in all....LOOK ELSEWHERE before you rent from here! NOT WORTH THE MONEY AND HASSLE! If you do move here, LOCK YOUR CARS AND LEAVE NOTHING IN SIGHT!!
