After my fianceé and I have lived here for seven months, I feel justified writing a review. I'm trying to give a balanced look at what it's like to live here, rather than lashing out against some perceived injustice or something. Like anywhere, it's not all bad. Some things have been good, others have been not-so-good, so I'm going to give you the story of my experience. The Good: - The people at the office seem pretty helpful and nice. - I have no issues with the walls transferring sound.. I saw a number of reviews claiming the walls were "like paper" - maybe it varies from building to building, but I have never had this problem. - The location does a great job of being out-of-the-way while still being close to everything. - I saw a number of other people complain about parking, but I've only had an issue with parking one time. The Bad: - One of the selling points they will use when talking to you is that the maintenance team is "great, and usually gets to things within 24 hours." This is wildly inaccurate. We have had 4 maintenance requests that I can think of off the top of my head. We only ever had visits from the maintenance team on two of these occasions, and in not one single case was the problem actually fixed. Unless it's an emergency, you can pretty much forget about it. (They already have, apparently.) - The buildings are old (built in the 70's) and they behave like it. The showers go from normal to scalding hot to freezing cold with pretty much no warning. We called maintenance about it, but you can check the point above this one to see how that turned out. The floor in my building is actually slanted, because the foundation is eroding (I assume). - The buildings are very close to an active railroad, so trains go by periodically and it's pretty loud. You get used to it after a while, but I feel the need to mention this because they do their best to pretend it doesn't exist. - They do not plow the parking lots. Well, they do, but multiple days after the snow has fallen, so it really doesn't help much. That's all I can think of for now. If I need to update this in the future, I will.

New management team are getting a lot done. New hallways, new clubhouse, more treadmills in the fitness center. Love the indoor pool. Front door locks are working now. I would highly recommend this place. LOVE the location - walking distance to the Meridian Mall; Farmers Market every Wednesday; public library and Haslett High School.

-no parking...seriously. i often have to walk several blocks when i get in after 9. -maintenance is slow and does a poor job -two separate times in one year, the police were in my building looking for a robber -i can hear everything my neighbors do--the walls are like paper -beetle infestation -when i moved in, everything was disgustingly dirty -locks are ALWAYS broken to the outside -pool seems to always be closed +big rooms, closet, bathroom +pet friendly +nice trails nearby Overall, I feel unsafe living here, the apartment i'm living in feels shabby and gross in a way that my cleaning can't seem to get really clean. I can't wait to leave. I've moved around the country and lived in 4 different rentals in the last 5-10 years, and this is literally the worst place I have lived.

the towing part is true! I got towed because I parked in a covered parking space, when clearly there were no other spots to park in. Not only that but the nearest parking was all the way down at the office. I dont think a young girl should be walking to her apartment alone especially considering the police were searching for an armed robber in that neighborhood. the space was even un-rented. 0 parking here anytime after 8pm. MSU provides better parking and at least they provide emergency phones for people walking to the dorms alone! resident safety is poor here. the comment about maintenance. also true! I was told they have 24hr maintence. I guess that meant for 24hrs no maintenance person will call or come to your apartment. STILL waiting on things to be fixed to this day. I even made an appointment to have them come in, and they STILL couldnt show up for that. how awesome. ps. had a homeless man going through our dumpster the other day, yeah i REALLY wanna walk home alone now! WILL NOT be resigning my lease here.

My sister and I lived here for a year, and its such an old place so some things are understandable. but the roads are unkept and full of potholes. the hot tub was broken for the last 6 months that we were there, the sauna hasn't been functional in years- yet these are still listed as features? The maintenance crew is unprofessional and their work is shoddy at best. Cops were always there, there were frequent car and home thefts. They are not all on the same page communication wise. My car got towed with no warning (because it was sitting in the parking lot for a few months that i couldn't drive it) which was illegal and a pain to get back... i would keep looking for a different place, there are so many cheaper and better places to live. Nemoke Trails is just a disgusting place to live.
