I lived here for 15 months (05/2013-08/2014) and I loved my one bedroom town home and the space I had, BUT I had the worst experience. I know you get common house bugs, but I had some kind of infestation. When I first moved there were a few spiders and centipedes. Then towards the winter there were small ants in my bathroom everyday I would put down traps and could see the ants making a line back into the wall to the nest, but it didn't kill them. Whenever I would cook food I would see the bigger ants appear randomly around my place. I also told the complex about it multiple times which they kept doing the same thing that never worked. Then in the spring and summer I got those pincher bugs. Everyday I would kill 4+ of them in random areas of my apartment. I am not a messy person I would vacuum and clean daily, which never helped. If it were not for the multitude of hybrid centipedes and spiders or the families of ants and pinchers I would have enjoyed my stay more. Nice, quiet area w/ good neighbors, but the buildings construction I believe needs to be worked on.The only thing else I has issues with were drafts in the winter and LIMITED parking! My apartment even at 70 degrees was still freezing. I could stand by the door and feel the cold area rushing in.

I keep seeing the responses from the owner on here, and if I weren't mad enough at Oak Park/Autumn Ridge, these responses infuriate me even more. This complex has suffered through ridiculously terrible management and making excuses like "disgruntled employee" or "you can't please everyone" is just mind blowing. How about you acknowledge the many misdeeds of this place so that people can SEE that you're about making it better? I lived there for 3 years, during which time a parking fee was applied requiring all residents to have a parking pass or their vehicles would be towed. I work late, would come home to no empty parking spaces, and most of the cars in the spaces did not have parking passes. I sat down with several office members trying to see what could be done, and they said it was my responsibility to call the police about illegally parked cars. No, sorry, that's what I'm paying YOU for. Being the nice guy that I am, I said OK, and paid an EXTRA $5 a month for a reserved space, with a sign and everything. Well that did no good as people would park in my reserved space whenever they wanted. Of course, management told me the same thing - call the police. Same thing with the car port which my roommate used - people would park there too, office would do nothing about it. Never did. My apartment smelled like pot constantly. I'm not a pot smoker, nor was my roommate, we both worked long hours. But everyone else in my building was a worthless pot head who sat around all day hot boxing their rooms, and it would seep through the vents. Many drug deals happening in broad daylight. Management would not investigate. "We can't control who rents here". Bullshit. Our AC went out during the hottest months of summer. Maintenance came by and cleaned the filter, didn't work. Came back and cleaned the condenser, didn't work. I know about these things, I told them the unit obviously had a leak and needed to be repaired or replaced. They said it wasn't leaking and it should be working fine. Nope. It took a phone call to AIMco for the unit to get replaced, after which point we had nice, ice cold AC again. When it came time to move out, we gave notice and all that, and everything went well, except for the mandatory carpet cleaning fee. My roommate and I were obsessive-compulsive about keeping the carpets clean, and the apartment was virtually spotless. Regardless, it was a mandatory fee. Curiously, the staff mentioned that our carpet was due for replacement. SO WHY DID WE PAY TO CLEAN THE CARPET THAT WAS GOING TO BE TORN OUT AND THROWN AWAY? Your management was garbage and if the attitude shown in these "owner responses" is anything to go by, it still is. Get your act together or this place is going to end up looking like Life O Riley.

In June 2014 the office made an error and said that they had not received a check from me for rent. At that time, a $75 fee was set to my account. I provided a copy of the dated check in addition to a statement from my bank that the check had been deposited & cleared 4 days BEFORE the due date. The office personnel did not know how to clear the fee from my account but told me it would be taken care of when the office manager arrived that day. I had to take PTO on several days just to come back to the office to discuss the same issue because I kept receiving notices that a balance due was being published to by credit, no one would return my calls, in-person requests, or email requests. No one could figure out how to take the amount off. I called a minimum of 10 times to talk to someone. Finally, they told me it had been taken care of but didn't know how to create a receipt or letter that it had been taken care of. Now, on Nov 15th, I received a letter that I STILL had a balance on my account. I went into the office and spoke to the office manager who that told me I would just have to come back in another time to talk to another office manager because no one had control over removing the fee even after they had received the bank documentation. It is unacceptable that this issue has not yet been resolved, here 5 months after the fact. This is totally unacceptable to have such a non-working system in their office and filing notices to your customers' credit for no reason.
