Well I am very happy living @ paradise island, the convenience of paying rent online is the frosting to my cake, to tell you the truth this was the first place I have stopped and looked for a apartment, I guess I have fell in love with the name, love at first sight. It really has been a paradise for me and I am going on my third year lease, the staff here are very nice, courteous and friendly so dont be afraid to ask any questions or concerns Maintenance crew are very professional and quick, they certainly have a great team. Very convenient location everything within a mile from shopping malls to publix. Awesome! I would highly recommend this place, its more than just an island its paradise.

I moved to the southside of Jacksonville to be closer to my job. This place was only two traffic lights away from where I worked. The problems started right from the get go. The grounds and community are unclean and trashy. There is zero cell phone service back in the preserves if you have AT&T or most other carriers. The trash compactors are so nasty when you walk by you can smell the garbage. They are also infested with Raccoons and other animals. The people in the community are low class and drive like maniacs over the speed bumps and are the most inconsiderate people I have ever interacted with. The apartment itself is the equivalent to a cardboard box. The kitchen counters are a terrible color and the cabinets look like something made in high school wood shop with MDF. The apartment I moved into had roaches infested in it and there was no way to get rid of them. I bombed countless times. I would come home and they would still be alive. Killed roaches every single night. The apartments are paper thin and I could hear everything the upstairs neighbors were saying and the noise from up there was insane. It sounded like they were dropping weights on the floor and stomping around. AVOID this Apartment Complex at all costs! The management and the staff are a joke. Rude and clueless on what they are doing. I requested several times to speak with the property manager and to have her call me. Never once did she contact me. When I went in there to break my lease and asked for a manger they said one wasn't available. When I said I wanted to break my lease. One magically was available. TERRIBLE place to live.

I just moved here in August and so far, so good! The staff is extremely nice and helpful. My only complaint is maintenance request take forever. I have put in the same maintenance order twice in the middle of September and the issue still hasn't been fixed. Other than that, I would recommend Paradise Island. Very nice community and its centrally located.

My previous review was deleted for some reason but I feel like it's a public service and my civic obligation to repost my experience here. I was there from Dec 2012 till August 2013. We had to call the police several times because our neighbors (a bunch of college kids) were playing basketball in their apartment right above me and partying it up till 4am where they would all hang off the balcony and the rafters. Complained to management several times and nothing was done. The final straw was when we went on vacation and came back to find that our apt was broken into and everything we owned including trivial things like my boxers, kitchenware and even toilet paper rolls were taken. What self respecting person steals someone's boxers but that's the class of the neighborhood since it's ghetto central. The only thing I am thankful for is that this hell hole made me move to a townhouse in Bartram Park and then eventually to a house in St john's. The most awful experience of my life and the biggest mistake I made was stay in "paradise" for 6 months. And just in case anyone wants to remove this review, all info is factual, I have the police report and my letters to management to prove everything above.

I haven't experienced anything out of the ordinary at Paradise Island. Maintenance staff has actually always gotten to us within 24 business hours, if not sooner. The leasing office has been really helpful and pleasant every time we have encountered them, especially Mike! The Gables is a great section to live in. I am glad that we gave this place a chance a year ago as we just signed our renewal.
