Probably the worst customer service and place to live i have ever seen. No one call you back they are nasty people when you need something DONT MOVE IN HERE DONT BE STUPID After carefully reviewing my post because i thought it might be too nasty i decided to give the managers another shot. After i spoke with the totally unresponsive managment and waited some time for a return call about an issue im having again no response from the management. so i decided to go to the corp office at essex OMG i know where these people get there crappy attitidue and lack of customer service. I have been to the insurance dept at essec twice both times the foreign speaking person never returned my call there standard canned answer is just sue us OK so i will these people are ruthless and worthless dont move in to this dog sewer

Really not sure why all of the hate on this property. The apartments are really nice, the pool and facilities are great. Only issue so far is the construction that is going on next door and guest parking. There is zero parking available for guests so you just have to accept that living here.

I honestly dont know why there are so many bad reviews!! My husband and I have lived here since September and we absolutely love it. This is the third complex I've lived in in the are and this is by far the best. (I lived at The Gateway and Renaissance as well) The rent is lower than the rest of the places in the are and the interiors are just as nice. The only difference is that the counters are fake granite instead of real, but really... who cares? I cant say about dog poop in the hall ways because we live on the back side of the building and dont have to walk through unless were going to the pool, but I've never noticed anything when we have, and the reality is that it is a DOG FRIENDLY COMPLEX. If you dont like dogs barking and poop etc move somewhere that doesn't allow dogs because unfortunately people are rude and dont pick up their dog poop and sometimes dogs get lonely or defensive and bark. The guest parking is limited but they tell you that when you first come in, whoever says that they dont is lying because the agent we worked with even told us that AMTRACK doesn't charge for overnight parking so that's an option since there is such limited parking. The last reviewer said that people block the whole street and barley get ticketed but we live right next to the street and have seen MANY tickets, one person got ticketed two nights in a row because he never moved his car after the first ticket, and they now have painted the curb red and no one parks there anymore.... as if it was really an issue in the first place because it is on the back of the building and you dont have to drive past in to get to anything, only if you choose to. Maintainance has always been efficient for us, except for when we first moved in the glue wasn't dry on our wood floors yet, but that was just because they were rushing to get us moved in... it happens. Overall, it is a nice place to live, really quiet I NEVER HEAR THE TRAIN windows open or not. There are a lot of dogs but that's what you get in a pet friendly complex. It is worth the money and keep in mind that you are living here for YOU not for your guests so if it is a little inconvenient for your friends to park, SO WHAT?! If you want open parking buy a house.

The negatives are numerous. First, there is absolutely no guest parking. This is really not designer's fault as there are many guest spaces inside and around the complex. However, the apartment management does ZERO ENFORCEMENT of the “no overnight parking” for the guest spaces, so residents use them for their extra vehicles rather than pay the $80 per month for an extra parking space. They nightly block the street, and are rarely ticketed. If you have a guest coming over, they had better arrive after 9 am or before 3 pm or they could end up walking a mile. The apartment is near enough to the train tracks that you constantly hear the train blowing its whistle from 6 am to 11 pm, although you can only hear the train itself if the windows are open. There are many dog owners here, and a few of them are quite rude and selfish. In addition to dogs barking and yelping within the apartment complex, there is often dog excrement on the sidewalks and sometimes INSIDE the apartment hallways, so you have to be careful where you walk. I had my first maintenance repair issue, and they came the same day to check the problem, but then never returned. There is a slightly annoying exhaust fan in the apartment that turns on and off automatically. It can be turned off manually, but after a minute or two, it automatically turns back on. Management is awful and they don't care about solving any problems. I moved out after only one year.
