I currently live here. I moved here a month ago and can't wait to move out! When I first moved down here I wasn't able to see the place beforehand because I was moving quickly. A friend of a friend lived here and she gave me a tour of her place online and she really likes it here. As I was coming down ( 24 hour drive) I got an email saying that I needed an account number at the electric company and to pay in a money order. I called the office and told them I might not be able to get a money order because my bank wasn't here. The office lady wasn't very helpful and all she could tell me was that the manager would call on Monday, the day I was supposed to move in. I asked if they could call an emergency number and she said the manager didn't have one. So I drove down without knowing if I was going to get a place. When I got down here I found out that the lady who had handled my case was fired and that the place she had told me I was supposed moving into (unit 2 and quieter apparently) was really unit 17 the one across from a bar. Nobody told me this and the manager was very apologetic and said if I didn't like it I could move (again!) into unit 2 when it was ready. Upset and angry I told her that we'll see what happens and get back. When I got to my place I liked the outside. It is well kept outside but the inside wasn't that great. There was tape on a door knob and cracked counters and dirty cabinets. The dishwasher was also broken. The carpet was stained all over and old but had clearly been vacuumed. We had been told it had steam cleaned or replaced between people. Obviously not. My husband talked to the office and they said they would clean it but they have yet to do so. We discovered a dead cockroach but that's the only one so far. We've had ants and they have been in 3 times to deal with. The first time they said they put a trap on the counter which we have yet to find and a powder on the window. The office told us they would spray. They did not. I went into the office and told them that a trap on the counter was gross and that they were coming out of a crack. They recaulked it and no more ants in the kitchen. Instead they are in the living room. Its so bad I've had to throw out 1/2 glasses of water because ants die in it between sips. As for the dog poop previously mentioned, I have noticed some but its not that bad. The pool is very nice and some of the office people do try and help. The manager was very nice. I just wish someone had told me that they wouldn't have been ready in time for me. I could have made arrangements while they worked. To top everything off, today while I was sweeping I found food from the old tenent under the lip of the cabinets!

Over all its a pretty decent place and I use that term looosely the wall are literally PAPER thin, the so called work out room is crap for 1 its already tiny but on top of that half of the equipment does not work they charge u a bunch of bs monthly for things you may or may not use and theres dog sh**t everywhere when last time I checked there was specific areas and bags to pick that sh**t up.. I dont want and should have to step over sh**t everytime I check the mail

I presently live at Parkcrest at the Lakes. The community here seems good. The bad things are: 1-you have to pay your own water and sewage. What is bad about this is that the water and sewage is shared among your neighbors in the same building. For example, the water bill is split between the residents. The water and sewage cost is not your own usage but rather the Parkcrest residents in total. This is how the office determins your water/sewage bill for the month. 2-within your rent, you have to pay for valet garbage pickup. So you pay extra rent for your trash to be picked up from your front door. You do not have a choice for this service. Besides thses 2 things, it's not a bad place to live. I just dont like mainly the sharing the cost of water/sewage with the other residents in determing my bill.
