I want to preface this by saying the management and service staff at Post are stellar. They're always friendly, helpful, and prompt. The actual apartments themselves, on the other hand, are lackluster at best. I'm on the top floor, and during the summer, the AC can't get the temperature below 80. The 'finish-outs' - cabinetry, appliances, fixtures, etc - are really old and I haven't heard any plans to renovate or remodel any time soon, yet they charge market rates comparable to larger, newly remodeled properties in the same area. The residents leave trash everywhere but the dumpsters, attracting bugs and other pests, and on the weekends, the place turns into a frat house - Saturday and Sunday mornings, it's more common than not to find vomit and/or clothing strewn about. For the price, you can do much better than Uptown Village.

I am currently sitting in my one bedroom, 700 sq ft apartment at Post Uptown Village, looking over power lines. I pay $1050 for my "luxurious" apartment that hasn't been refinished in years. I live on the 4th floor, which said they had an elevator. That's funny, I've lived here for almost a year and have yet to discover one. Also, funny enough, I'm actually sweating bullets because my air conditioning has been broken for almost 24 hours. I put in a service request yesterday, but when I continue to call the management and leasing office, I get transferred to the answering service. It's hotter inside my apartment than it is outside. You're probably thinking, 'open the windows, you fool!' But to no avail, they will not stay open. I wouldn't allow a DOG to live in such horrible conditions such as this, let alone someone who works for the 1050 to watch it go down the drain in such a dump as this. DO NOT fall into the Post trap. State Thomas neighborhood is incredible, but not worth all of this. Post will continue to charge you an exorbitant amount while caring less about you suffocating in the sauna that is your residence in the Texas heat.
