I just moved into Quarrystone this past weekend and I honestly do not understand any of the bad comments made about it prior to this comment. The staff has been nothing but kind and considerate. They have also been more than helpful when we have asked enough questions to annoy any leasing agent. We are so impressed by the immaculate condition of all of the public spaces as well as our apartment. In our old apartment we could hear every conversation our neighbors had, now we do not hear a peep. The building is very secure and I have yet to see any people that look like trouble makers and I doubt I will since there are sportscars all throughout the parking lot from car brands I have never even heard of. The price is fantastic, the location is fantastic, and the amenities are fantastic. What one of the previous reviewers said about getting out of your lease before it's up is true. But, that is all explained to you before you sign any of the paperwork. None of it is a surprise. The lease is somewhere in the 25-35 page range and has every detail you could ever need to know. If you actually take the time to read it (like I did) you won't have any issues. It's a fantastic community and I'm very excited for my next 15 months here.

My experience at Quarry Stone was a positive one. I was surprised to look it up and see the previous comments and felt it necessary to enter my own experience for those who are looking. The community is very friendly and I have had nothing but courtesy and respect when dealing with the staff. Example: The fire alarm went off in the building due to tenants that live across the hall from me burning food on their stove (it was the third time these neighbors had this issue) After the fire department checked it out and we were all back in the building the Manager, Colleen, came and knocked on all the neighbors doors to make sure we were alright and that there was no damage in other apartments from the incident. I also heard her talking to the residents who had the incident (3 times) and asking them what they were doing when it happened and giving them advice on how to prevent it in the future. It was all very calm and respectful. I was impressed with that. And with the staff's efforts to provide entertainment and opportunities to meet neighbors through the events they schedule!! Ive lived in several apartment buildings in the past, and this one seemed to me to be very client oriented in comparison. I moved out a few months ago due to a relocation for my job. I had no issues getting my security deposit, and no issues with my lease agreement. Overall I found Quarry Stone to be a pleasant place to live. And if I end up back in the area, I'd consider returning!!!

The office will do everything in it's power to get you in the door. Once you are there, get comfortable because breaking your lease is not an option. They will charge you two months rent as a penalty, on top of having to give 60 days notice. If you try to go the subletting option, it will cost you upwards of $1,000. 100 per person removed from the lease (e.g. deleting a name), 100 per person added to the lease, (e.g. typing a new name), and some ungodly amount for doing the background check/ new paperwork. All comes to about 1k. Aside from the normal outrage people in dire situations feels when management won't help them out at all, the management is terrible. They are down right rude. Colleen is in charge, and is proof that the tone at the top (unethical, lazy, condescending) trickles down. A few examples of their sleazy tactics: When working in the reservable "office space", I overheard the loud and rude maintenance manager talking down to some residents. Their washer overflowed, and he told them it was their own fault. They they would be liable for the cost of a brand new rug, and some special sealant that needed to be put on the floors prior to a instillation of new carpeting. Pretty sure in any other place, if the equipment malfunctions, they fix it/ do not charge you for it. There as no proof of any malpractice on the tenants fault. Long story short, kiss your security deposit good bye. It seems like the office is overly upfront with the listing of fees that can be charged upon move-out. Make sure you demand a statement of condition when you move in, and mark down meticulously everything that is not in perfect, pristine condition. The office has no clue what "normal" wear and tear is. There also may be section 8 housing in this building. There were some more than questionable tenants, who were frequented by the police down the hall from us. Not that all section 8 people are criminals, but these individuals were nothing but trouble. Their electric got shut off, so they were charging their electronics in the hall. For a "luxury" apartment, not too impressed. My neighbors apartment was broken into. Lap tops were stolen. The funny thing is that the windows were locked, and there was no damage done to the doors/ windows, locks, etc. The office said someone checked out the key but then replaced it as it was for the wrong apartment. Inside job? Well the office never investigated and wrote the check out of their apartment key as a coincidence. Funny how the building manager was replaced two months later. Also, the new building manager is on a power trip. Avoid him at all costs. He is white-trash and borderline will harass you if he thinks you are breaking a rule.

Thanks for the heads up, Kerry. We were seriously considering getting a place here as a temporary residence while I transition jobs. Sounds like I need to look elsewhere. (Disclaimer -- I do not live here ... and thanks to Ms Jones review I have taken this complex off my list of potential candidates)
