It is a restoration of an entire old New Orleans neighborhood, * an authentic part of the social and architectural fabric unique to the city. * Traditional two and four-family apartment homes line streets restored * to the original grid patterns laid out some two centuries ago. * But the old is new and much improved. The latest construction materials, * energy-saving insulation and modern appliances all make River Garden * living more comfortable, more convenient and more affordable. * River Garden is old New Orleans living at its best and its newest. * OLD NEW ORLEANS LIVING IS NEW AGAIN!

Ignore many of these comments...veiled racism abound. I've lived in the LGD for about the last 20 years, and my current apartment here is the nicest i've ever had. Yes, there are parties and loud noise like twice a month, depending on your block, just like every other place in NOLA...move to Metairie if you don't approve! After three years living in River Garden I have had ZERO safety or privacy issues. However, the non River Garden housing around the area is definitely suspect.

DO NOT LIVE HERE! Its called "mixed income" but its more like SECTION 8 completely!!! ITS GHETTOOOO! Very disrespectful neighbors, loud, and scary. I even had my door broken down by cops by mistake! Great location, it is very sad what this neighborhood could be, and what the government has made it to be.... Do Not for any reason live here.

I'm a hard working individual who values quality of life, peace, and quite. If you are like me don't even think abut moving here. Weekly block parties will last late into the night during the week and on Sundays. The walls are so thin that they might as well be non-existent. The Section 8 residence have no respect for their fellow neighbors and bring down the once charming atmosphere of this complex. Although the price may be right, I urge anyone of class and standards to reconsider by paying a little bit more for a better life away from this neighborhood.

I agree with most of the reviewers. Stay away from these apartments. The show room apartment is the only nice thing they have because the actual apartment have a very strong smell of smoke which was the reason I changed my mind last minute. NASTY!... If you go during work days you don't get to see all the ghetto people that live there including management that are always in a rush and cut you off many times when you try to speak showing a hypocrite smile (Uncle Tom) while they answer the phone machine at the same time. Im glad I changed my mind even though i lost halft of my deposit. Then they tell you "we don't usually give the deposit back" THIEF! They promise you the best but they actually give you the worse of the ghuetto hood of NOLA! Lesson Learned.

DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!!!!! After the first month, you will terribly regret your decision if you choose this place. don't get sucked into the prime location because thats the only positive about this place. The management is absolutely terrible at their job, and i am being kind when i say that. The police came on several occasions to stop adults from brawling in the streets, management will let this fly, but if you have one little noise complaint for being loud on a friday past 11:00 all hell freezes over. the Maintenance guys are all rude, and make any easy task seem like the biggest burden possible. Not all the tennants are barbarians, in fact I had very good neighbors on my side of the street, but that still would not have effected my decision to leave this hell hole. i will say this one last time, DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
