Unbearable noise, insecure and poor quality upkeep and indifferent maintenance. To start, the noise is ridiculous. Old and poor construction makes for terrible noise: I can hear every footfall of the people who live upstairs! Frequently, the squeak of footsteps is so loud it makes my cat jump. When I was considering moving in, the property manager implied that noise is not a big problem here, since this building is all one-bedroom apartments, so there should be few children, which are often the most uncontrollable noisemakers (I have grown kids; I don’t mind regular kid noises). The people downstairs have a little boy and girl and two yappy dogs (in a one bedroom!). I think they babysit because I sometimes hear babies crying intermittently. The children frequently scream in delight or misery, I’m not sure which sometimes. I never see any adults ever. Dogs bark hysterically all the time, often into wee hours like midnight, 1, 2 or 3 AM. When I complained to the front desk/building manager regarding the noise, she said they recommend we speak to the neighbors directly. I knocked on the neighbor’s door and no one answers; I can hear the children play-screaming and the dogs barking through the door. I did not want to escalate matters by calling the police. Maintenance requests are ignored. I have requested repair several times. No response. I went to the office in person, where I was directed to call the maintenance “hotline” because they do not handle repairs. This message-only phone never yields a response. The interior of the apartment is clean; the common areas such as the hallway are not. The mail room lobby looks the nicest, in their efforts to entice people to sign a lease. The halls and stairs stink of urine (from diaper trash left in hallway) or other garbage or cooking odors. Amenities? The pool is overrun with unsupervised children of many ages; I guess older (young) teens are watching the smaller ones. I did not want to be the only adult present so I don’t use it. The basement laundry room is overpriced (it’s obviously a big money maker for the complex); the machines damage my clothes and the laundry room stinks of mold and mildew (as does the entire basement/hallway). The people who remain in this property long-term do not have the resources to move (disabled, older and alone) or they consider this place an improvement over their previous living arrangement, which gives you an idea of the community in the building. I’m here for grad school and don’t want to move now for cost and convenience, but I will get out of here as soon as my lease is up in a year. I am stunned anyone would give this place a good review. Live elsewhere!

Living here for 2 years. Its a great location as it only takes me 5 mintues to get to the highway and my daughter's school is around the corner. The maintenance department are good, they respond fast. Amy in the office is very nice to deal with, she's always friendly. Our apartment is big and includes our heat and hot water so it was one less bill to worry about this winter.

I lived here for 2 years while I was in college with a roommate. We enjoyed how quiet it was in this area and how close we were to shopping and the Merrit Parkway. This was our first time living away from home, so we were both a little nervous but excited to be on our own. Living here gave us the chance to save money compared to student housing and we both enjoy having our own space. (Living in a dorm room is not our cup of tea.) I went home most weekends and having the Merrit so close made my commute a breeze. We had no issues with parking, my roommate and I alternated who parked in our assigned spot. It worked out well for us. My roommate got a job at a local Walmart so she was home most weekends on her own, but she always felt safe.

Be prepared to pay new and random maintenance fees. Be prepared to be towed without sufficient notice. Be prepared to have your car scratched bc the parking is tight. Be prepared to have your rent raised if you renew as well. Other than that all is well.

Worst place I have ever rented! During the winter season the lot was never plowed, we had to do a neighborhood dig out so that we could get our car out. Furthermore on the few occasions maintenance did show up to fix things in the apartment the workers talked trash about me while I was standing right in front of them, much to their surprise yo hablo espanol. I was treated with disrespect by the office staff when on one of the few occasions the plows were out, the driver damaged my property, by hitting it with the plow. Potential renters beware, rent in Broadmore across the street instead.
