Worst experience working with an apartment complex ever! They were awesome when I went to tour the apartment, then as soon as I began the application process everything went downhill. One of the leasing agents kept giving me the run around about my application and how long it would take to process it, then when she finally called me back (3 days after I applied) she falsified information on my credit report and tried to demand a higher deposit. After asking 3x I finally got the manager Sommer to call me back only to tell me she would look into it and call back in 15 minutes which turned into 3 days. She told me the issue was that the agent did not know how to read a credit report and she could see that the information I had been given was inaccurate, then told me the deposit was even higher than what the first agent had told me. When I asked her to have 24 hours to think about it she told me she would just give the apartment to someone else even though I had already paid a non-refundable holding fee for it. I contacted their corporate office regarding my experience and was told that although they could waive the deposit for me, they would not because they want to keep "certain people" out of their complex. I refused to pay an extra misc. "non-refundable" deposit for no legitimate reason so I decided to walk away. They basically stole $135 from me, put me through hell for a week and a half and told me they did not want to rent to "people like me"... a single hardworking mom with a stable career, college education, good credit, and no criminal record... Save yourself the headache, don't even waste your time applying here! I'm glad I didn't end up moving in, just disappointed I had to spend $135 to figure out that this was not the place for me. Also, these used to be Land Pointe apartments. They have horrible reviews online claiming there are rats and birds in the buildings, unattended children, and a lot of drug activity in the complex.
Management is irresponsible. Be sure to obtain all information or agreements in writing otherwise Sommer Hagen has no problem with purger in court. Rent is way to expensive for unit sizes. Management changes anywhere from 3-6 months a year. For references purposes Napa Place is a trade name and owner is Charles Jordy. Not the idea property to live in Peoria.
