I have been living at Southpoint Glen for about a year now, and wanted to share my experience. Overall, it has been a very positive experience. I haven't had any major issues, and the minor maintenance issues that I have had (water heater had to be reset once, got a new lock installed, etc.) have been resolved quickly. And by quickly, I mean within 6 hours of submitting a work order. The office staff has been nothing but helpful and friendly. They know me by name, which is surprising, since I don't interact much with them, and they go out of their way to make sure I have a positive experience. Furthermore, the complex is quiet, without a lot of disturbances. And, more importantly, I feel safe at night. The only criticism that I have of the complex is that my carpet seemed pretty outdated. But, I think they are changing the carpet in my apartment when I move out. Overall, this is a great apartment complex that is close to everything. There is a grocery store less than 1/2 a mile away, and the Southpoint mall is less than a mile. There are loads of stores and restaurants nearby, and plenty of activities to do. Southpoint Glen gets my stamp of approval!

I've lived at Southpoint Glen for over a year and for what I am paying for a 1 BR apartment, I've had a good experience. I'm one of those people who likes to say Hi to my neighbors and I try to get to know who they are (I feel safer that way.) My neighbors for the most part have been friendly or at least, courteous. I also get to know the office staff (who have always been friendly and caring.) If I've needed something repaired, it's usually done within 48 hours. The apartment is a good size and the location of the complex is so convenient to most things. The only downside to living here is that these are older apartments, and so the noise from upstairs does filter downwards, making it a challenge to sleep if your neighbors keep hours different to yours. Mostly, though, neighbors are considerate. I've gone away for long weekends and not worried too much about my car or my place. The one neighbor I had who liked to blast his stereo late at night was good about turning it down when I went over to ask. Other than that - no dramas - and the staff are always organizing something fun for the community. If you're looking for a luxury place, this isn't it, but if you want just a nice family-friendly place at a reasonable price, then I can recommend Southpoint Glen. The grounds are always nice and they just built a communal BBQ area. There's a pet playground and a playground for the kids. I've enjoyed my time here.

unfortunately i cannot recommend this apartment complex to anyone. it's switched management (before it was innesbrooke, now it's south point glen) and since the switch i've noticed the quality of customer service diminish rapidly. my AC was broken for OVER a week, in the midst of summer, and i had called numerous times and it was a huge ordeal to get it fixed. i had to call multiple times to get someone to come over to look at it in the first place, and when they sent over a maintenance worker the first time, i was at work, he "fixed it" and left. i get home from work, it's still 94 degrees in my apartment. then the next day, it happened again. and then again the next day. the maintenance worker finally came over once while i was there, he told me they only had two maintenance men working for the company at the moment because they had fired the other illegal workers when the company switched hands. that's great, but don't make your problems my problems. finally south point glen decided to invest in sending over a heating/cooling company to fix my air conditioning, after maintenance man #1 made a HUUUUGE mess, leaving random holes drilled in my ceiling, dry wall all over the floor, his smudgy finger prints all over everything. for some reason he took my smoke detector down and never took the time to reattach it. he also made all these false promises to me about small repairs he would make for me for the inconvenience of not having AC and having some random men in my apartment while i was trying to shower and get ready for work. NOTHING was ever repaired. i had to call and speak with property management to even get someone out to clean up the mess the original maintenance man left, which they were completely ungracious to do. the heating/cooling company men told me that the original man trying to fix my AC actually made the entire situation worse, and disconnected the AC from the apartment above me, and replaced my entire unit for basically no reason when it only needed a small repair. it should have been an easy fix if only south point glen wouldn't have been so reluctant to send over a professional from the beginning. also, they installed a wall unit in my window to give me some relief, but it didn't actually fit within the size of the window, so i had gaps where bugs were getting in, and air was getting out. also, i couldn't secure my apartment for the time it was installed (even after my AC was fixed they just left the thing there) because you can't lock your window unless it is closed. GREAT JOB, SOUTH POINT GLEN. i was offered NOTHING in consolation for the disruption to my life. the inconveniences didn't stop there either. i've had random men in and out of my apartment, without notice, since the whole fiasco as they've attempted to repair the AC unit in the apartment above me that got dismantled during the attempt to fix mine. i can't wait to move out of here. also the pool is like, NEVER open. so annoying. and the neighbors i have use their cars as like, stereos and blast loud obnoxious music and hang out in the parking lot to wee hours of the night, leaving it littered with beer bottles and fast food wrappers. classy. avoid this complex like the plague.

I'm not going to write on longevity because today was my move in day, but let me fill you in on what you're in for. I had picked this apartment out and the move in date a month in advance. The girl I spoke with called me a week before to confirm this. My boyfriend goes up there at 9:30 am with a truckload of furniture and they didn't have the paperwork ready. I told them he was coming that morning. He sat there for 3 hours...hold on, that didn't have enough emphasis...THREE FREAKING HOURS!!!! waiting for the papers to sign. Then they want the rent payment upfront, which is fine because they conveniently take debit card payments....however on the website it showed that he owed $0 and therefore could not pay. Turns out that was their first day using this type of system. They won't give out keys until you pay the first months rent on a system that hasn't been figured out and won't let you pay. Smart. So then it starts to rain....outside...on all of our uncovered stuff because well, THREE FREAKING HOURS beforehand the sun was justa shining as bright as ever. They still didn't give him the keys to at least put things away and these girls couldn't care less that our stuff was being damaged. Very much that 'Aw, sucks to be you' kind of attitude. So he drove back, with all of our stuff, THIRTY MILES AWAY. The truck has a V8, I'm sure we spent well over $30 in gas just to have ruined furniture and no apartment. To say that I'm livid is an understatement, and I will certainly be moving out ASAP due to this incompetence.

YES the location is good, and yes the prices are decent but that is about it!! PLEASE PLEASE heed my warning! Where do I even begin... Ok from the begining my heat did not work, moved in in january of last year. Called emergancy maintenance, took them THREE days to fix it and I have a four year old child. After that it was repaired a total of FOUR times in which in the middle of summer they had to replace the whole A/C unit and gave me window units for almost a whole dang week, in which bugs constantly came through. Speaking of the bugs you might as well be living in a damn tent outside. They have the HUGEST wasterbugs (roaches!) that I have ever seen in my whole life. They are about 1 1/2 - 2 inches long... no joke...and they can fly! UUUggghh its so nasty. They have to be coming from holes in the apartment or ductwork because its the middle of winter and I just found a GIANT cricket in the bathroom on the ceiling by the vent and one of those HUGE waterbugs in the light in my ceiling IN THE KITCHEN. I keep my house clean and fairly organized and it doesnt even make a difference. My neighbors above me have about 4 kids in a two bedroom and it sounds like the are constantly throwing furniture around. I swear one day they are going to fall through my ceiling. I have had to call the police 3 times because of loud music being played outside from 2-5 in the morning! My dishwasher hasn't cleaned one dish the whole entire time Ive been here. I live close to the recreation area so when I go out on my back porch in the summer their where constantly beer bottles on my porch like it was a trashcan! The lease basically says that management can do whatever they want whenever they want and you cant do anything about it, otherwise I would have moved A LONG time ago. My lease is up at the end of this month but moving sooner. Cant say ANYTHING good about this place! So glad to get out! JUST DONT MOVE HERE!!!!!
