Quite possibly the worst place i've ever had to live. I have been here a year and in that time, the garbage disposal has broken 4 times (no i'm not putting anything in it), my dryer broke, my washing machine then broke, the guy fixed it, and then it caught on fire.. and they replaced it with another old washing machine.. which now a month later has broken again. The neighbors are extremely shady and have like 7 cats that pee all over the porch which wreaks! and someone tried to jimmy my storage unit key hole and left it unable to open. I have massive amounts of spiders on my porch that I can't get rid of, they fumigated for roaches after a year of asking them to and it happened to be on the most inconvenient of days so I had to get a hotel for my dog and family. They have agreed to replace my fridge and dishwasher but only because I am starting to go insane. When I moved in they only let me see my unit the day before and I had no choice but to move in even though the carpet was at least 9 years old and everything was dated to possibly when this place was built in the 80's. When I went to have cable hooked up it had to be redone as it hadn't been taken care of in over a decade. The apartments are tiny and the whole grounds smell like dog poo. Yep... i'm trying to stay my lease, but I'm at my wits end!

You should live at Gilbert Meadows if you like the following: 1. Roaches 2. Being able to hear your neighbors... even when they use the bathroom. 3. Moldy air vents 4. Flooded fields and parking lots from broken sprinklers 5. Screaming kids non-stop 6. The smell of raw sewage. 7. Living around nosy people who are home ALL the time. 8. Knowing all of your neighbors kids names because they live with their door open and shout across the court yard which some how echoes in your living room. 9. Barking dogs 10. Constant noise overall: kids, scooters, pogo sticks, trains, air planes, construction, crying babies. 11. The Gilbert PD regularly leaving notes on your car about your tags and how you park, etc. 12. Dim wits in the front office who lose your packages 13. Unsupervised kids trashing the court yards and cussing really loud. 14. Hipsters singing campfire songs really loud at 2AM on a weekday night 15. Leaking pipes that never get fully fixed. There is so much more I could add to this list. Now my wife and I actually live in South-Central Phoenix in a condo and we have significantly less noise and surprisingly better neighbors who are respectful and aware of others. It is very telling to say we moved from Gilbert to Phoenix for peace and quiet. You wont get any of that at Gilbert Meadows nor privacy or comfort.

The staff in office only cares about collecting money. Will call you back to get you in. Once you live here an have an issue they will not return calls. Als o look at parking lot notice to drainage. So when it rains standing pools of water for days thousands of mosquitos, pipes break in grass areas no one fixes comes out to fix them again pools of water. So if you like bugs, small apartments, staff who don't care this is the place for you.

Not the greatest place to live. I know it's inexpensive but.... yeah. I moved out and for the couple extra bucks I now live comfortably and in a roach free, cop free, gecko free, tweaker free environment.

Don't rent here - period. We have lived here for four years, so I would like to consider myself an expert about this place. I hate these apartments - it is where DREAMS GO TO DIE. My neighbors carpet doesn't even cover her entire floor! Really classy place. We renters have a nickname for this place - The Springs @ Gilbert Ghettos. Here are a few of the things I have come to enjoy and are free of charge: 1. Electricity frequently goes out and does not turn back on for hours at a time 2. Plumbing issues happen often which means your water to your apartment is shut off for 24 hours, or that your apartment gets flooded (It looked like niagra falls inside of my house a couple of times) 3. Flooding in the parking lots after rain - hope you own a canoe or you may need to brush up on those swim lessons 4. Trashy neighbors - screaming (A LOT), domestic violence, drug deals, lots of cop action, plenty of super loud rap music infiltrating your walls, and electric guitar music 5. Feral cats which are numerous and fed by the neighbors 6. Huge scary dogs that run off their leashes and neighbors that don't clean up after them 7. Maintenance won't fix your apartment issues even after major flooding or with rain leaks (see 15) 8. Mosquitoes, Cockroaches that never seem to go away, and Flies (remember all of that dog poop I told you about?) 9. Maintenance staff can be very rude and if you are a woman - good luck! They tend to deal better with men. If you are lucky you might even get a few smart mouth analogies between your low cost and poorly maintained apartment to an old used car... loved that one and will never forget it. "WHAT? I am not living in the Mercedes Benz of apartments???" Not really a shock to me, but still. It is more like an old pontiac trans sport. Google it to do a comparison :-) 10. Destroyed plants/things on the patio by apartment hoodlums 11. The wall cable connections for the internet is not good and you may or may not have internet service at any time of day or night... which is really wonderful and quite convenient for us 12. Neighbors don't take out their trash and leave it on the patio to stink up your front entrance. They sent out a warning to all of the apartments a few weeks ago - that maintenance staff would take out your trash for you if you fail to throw it away, and charge you a fee. I really LAUGHED OUT LOUD when I read that because the maintenance staff around here is so lazy I couldn't see them walking out their own trash to the garbage. 13. They won't return your voice mail. I have left a few voice mails after work hours when the front office was closed and they have NOT ONCE returned my call. So it is pretty much pointless to call them after hours. 14. Emergency repairs phone line - they respond, sure... an hour later... if you are lucky... 15. Our flooring is also falling apart, and when I asked if they could fix it, they said it would be more of a pain for us then for them to fix it and that they wouldn't charge us for it falling apart when we moved out (we'll see if they are true to their word) - they also said they wouldn't charge us for the flooding damage done to our apartment that they NEVER fixed that happened months ago where parts of the wall are sagging due to water damage. 16. Apartments are poorly maintained on the outside - you will see many a patios with their stucco falling off - and many walls that need touched up - and roofs that are missing tiles I have spoken with office staff about many of my concerns and they have failed to take action on any of them. I will be moving once my lease is up, guaranteed.
