I strongly discourage anyone from renting these apartments. I lived there from june 2013 to jan. 2014. there were multiple drug dealings across the street. the dog park is nasty. I refused to take my dogs in it. management is lacking and got bad attitude from them every time there was an issue. poor maintenance, sub par plumbing and wiring. the buildings are falling apart, roofs leaking, multiple floodings. we were evicted because I refused to take the dogs to the dog park to do their "business". now I'm being sued for damages that don't even exist. please please please, do not go there. it is not a place you want to live.

Need I saw more then watch the news. You see all kinds of drug busts and shooting and ect and brittany apartments are spoken of often in this regard. I've never lived there went years ago to check the studio apartment out for moving in. This way in one of the walk through. If you really like any place when you first see it it should take you more then five minutes to walk through it and decide if you want to fill out an app. From opening the door to closing the door took less then five minutes. I wanted so where were you could have nice neighbors and feel safe in a "nice" apartment. I wanted my money's worth. And The Brittany Apartments was not an apartment I would want to live in. Needless to say I spent less then a hundred more and move closer to the college at my age then was fine and got a way better apartment with great reviews.

I was doing some research on all the places I lived and remember this place from 1993. We lived here when my son was born. He is 17 now. It was a great place then. Nice neighbors, good management and well kept. We moved after 6 months to Nashville TN. Sorry to see all the negative comments. Something must have changed.

Do not rent here! I lived here for a little over 2 years, up until Sept 2010. My roommate and I were sucked in by the size of the apartments for the cost compared to other apartments in the area. I wish we would've done further research. A few weeks after moving in, we noticed a raw sewage smell coming from the kitchen, around where the washer and dryer sat. The smell was worse at night and it was so bad, you couldn't even stand to stay in the living room, which was adjacent to the kitchen. I could even smell it in my bedroom, which was in the back of the apartment. We called and emailed the office several times to have a maintenance worker come check it out. We received no response. I was pregnant and was very concerned about what I was breathing in. I finally sent the office a letter via certified mail letting them know that we would be moving out and would not be responsible for fulfilling our contract as they were not upholding their end of the contract to maintain the apartment. They finally called me the day they received that letter. A maintenance worker came out and said he couldn't smell anything but admitted that he "did have a bad sense of smell". He put sealant foam around where the washer and dryer hoses fed into the ceiling. Off and on for the rest of the time we lived there, the smell came back. My parents stayed with me one night and smelt it and said it smelt like they didn't have the "stink pipe" from the septic system properly installed/vented. (We lived on the top floor.) Also when we moved in, the dishwasher was broken and it took them 3 months to replace it. I am a very clean person and keep a tidy house but there were roaches everywhere, some as long as 2 inches. When we called to complain, the office staff said roaches were a problem and they could have a exterminator come out to spray. We had to call them to have the exterinator come and spray once a month (the most they allow) the entire time we were there and we still saw roaches. Another issue was the air conditioner. We moved in during the summer. The apartment would get upwards of 80/90 degrees even though we had the A/C up full blast. Needless to say, our electricity bill was insane for an apartment. The first time a maintenance worker came out, he said it was because we were on the top floor and "hot air rises". He replaced the air filter. We still had problems throughout the summer and called repeatedly. We would change the air filters and one time, they discovered that one of the pipes had frozen and burst inside the unit, which contributed to the A/C not working properly. I had to call the maintenance worker as an emergency one weekend as the apartment was 90 degrees. My poor son was running around in his diapers and was still sweating. They came out and did some more "work" and we got a little relief. The exterior areas were dirty and unkept and there were always disturbances at night. I wish I would've moved out sooner but the expense to move in the first time was so high and I couldn't afford it again until later. When the glorious day arrived that we moved out, I was surprised by their "Moving Out" checklist. We had to have the carpets cleaned or pay a $160 fee (the office staff recommended we let them clean it because if "they found even one spot, we would be charged the full price anyway"). There were other absurd charges that you would think would be part of "doing business" and that the apartment would cover themselves as part of getting the apartment ready for a new tenant -cleaning charges, replacing stove pans and lightbulbs, painting etc. After it was all said and done, I had a bill of close to $700 from their move out charges. Please save yourself a lot of stress, worry, and money and look elsewhere.
