My wife and I stayed in these apartments for a little over a year in the 200 building. Overall, these apartments were decent for our first living space together which is why I gave a 2 star and not a 1 star. However, there were certain instances where the apartment management was not very pleasant to deal with. There was one instance where my wife and I were sleeping and around midnight we were awakened by a knock on our BEDROOM door. A man called out and said that he needed to come in. It turned out that it was the maintenance man claiming that there was water damage in the apartment beneath us due to rain, and he was coming into our apartment to see where it was coming from. This makes complete sense and would have been fine, however, we received no prior phone call to alert us that they would be coming in. My wife was extremely frightened and was not dressed decently. In addition to that, we found a large Oriental Cockroach on our bathroom floor on April 24, 2015. We have maintained a clean apartment for the duration of our stay, leaving no food out for any extended amount of time. This could only mean that the cockroach came from a larger infestation somewhere in the 200 complex. After immediately capturing the cockroach and taking it into the office, they stated that they would contact pest control. Several days later, my wife and I notified them that we would be moving out of the apartments. When I went in to ask what was to be done about the cockroach, the same woman I notified, told me that pest control said that "it was a water bug and there is nothing to worry about." I knew that it was indeed not even close to a true water bug due to a thorough internet identification and the Biology II class I was in at that time. I went back in to notify them that that was a mistake and she then said, "oh, we'll have pest control come back out then." This could only mean that she knew it wasn't a water bug/never contacted pest control. She was just trying to prevent the fact that Quail Ridge East, apartment complex 200 in Springfield, MO, has a cockroach problem. I am not a picky person and am not one to put any business or person down. However, the cockroach incident pushed me to write this review. I would not recommend Quail Ridge to anyone, in fact, I would recommend that anyone searching for an apartment should stay away from this place.
