Maintenance is SLOW, appliances are VERY old, windows and doors do not keep air out, if there is a strong breeze outside my blinds will rattle even when the windows are closed tight. My electric bill is usually 250+ for a 2 bedroom. I get LOTS of HUGE spiders and other creepy crawlies regardless of how much/often I spray around the doors and windows with bug sprays. BUT the area is very convenient/close to everything. And they do keep up very well with the OUTSIDE appearance of the apartments.

I'm surprised by some of the bad reviews. I had no major problems with the apartment, but I guess it's all about your expectations. I lived on a top floor with a nice, vaulted ceiling, it's painted nicely and the carpet was in good condition. The flooring in the kitchen and bathroom was pretty old and definitely needed to be replaced as the edges were curling up, but nothing I couldn't live with. I really liked the layout, any time I had a maintenance issue, they responded right away. Appliances were old, but what I expected compared to similar apartments. I liked the location for Chesterfield and I lucked out with neighbors because I never heard them except when they were walking to their apartment outside. But I'm low maintenance, some people just have really high expectations and I'm more realistic. But based on my experience, I'd definitely recommend it to someone if they asked

Do not live here! I can't say it any clearer... I moved into Westmont because they were one of the few apartments in Chesterfield that allows large dogs on premises. (Note to other apartments - large dogs are generally less destructive and intrusive than small dogs.) That being said, other than be able to have the dog (with a $300 pet fee and $30 month in pet rent), in the 11* months that I had the unfortunate experience of living in this dump, I can't think of a single thing that I would recommend about the apartment itself. Sure the grounds are well kept, but that's just the facade. Where to start? The apartments themselves are old and outdated. Worn carpet, appliances from the mid-late 80's (I checked date of manufacture), noisy air conditioners and dingy bathrooms. In the 11 months that I lived here I received 3 credits from management for unacceptable maintenance issues - 3 weeks without a working washer, 6 weeks without an ice maker and 2 months (yes months) with and A/C unit that couldn't cool below 85 degrees. The main issue here is the staff. Inattentive, uninformed and often belligerent. Everything to be serviced was always and issue... If I'm paying close to $1100 a month (rent, pet, covered parking), I at least expect the staff to try and resolve an issue without trying to make me prove it! If you decide to live here, you can expect the same. Also, you can expect nightly loud cricket games (yes, cricket) on the tennis court, thin ceilings (hope you like your neighbors), apartments with 4+ men living in them (see cricket) and your car, most likely, will be hit in the parking lot. Also, don't be surprised if you come home and find that maintenance has left the keys in the door to your now unlocked apartment. And finally, back to the reason I lived there for 11* months... After complaining for weeks about a strong odor of sewer gas in the apartment, suffering headaches and getting nowhere with the crack staff, I took matters into my own hands and called a friend in the St. Louis County Health department... She inspected the apartment and determined that the shared (not code) mainline return for the washer had cracked. It was only after I informed the property of this serious health violation that they agreed to do anything about and let me out of the lease. Do yourself a favor - go anywhere else. There are MUCH nicer properties in the area - ones that don't smell of sewer gas, ones that weren't last updated during the Reagan administration, ones that actually care about there residents and ones that when you're moving out you won't say "Thank God that's over."

The people who run the place are really rude. The apartments seemed nice and we were in a rush so we moved in but it just always seemed like they didn't have time to deal with our concerns. Our apartment in particular is slanted and we are afraid to even go out on the deck because of it. When we moved in the carpet still had pet stains from the previous renter. Overall it has just been an unpleasant experience.

Older appliances, windows and doors allow all the cold in, terrible toilets. Paper-thin walls, where you can hear every move your neighbor makes. For the price I'm paying to live in a single bedroom apartment, I should not have to deal with the amount of noise that I hear from all the neighbors around me.
