This place is a nightmare! Let me give you some highlights in the year I lived there. On move-in day, I walked in to find the carpets being cleaned, even though the apartment was supposedly vacant for three weeks. I was told I couldn't put anything on them for 24 hours. I had a moving crew I was paying $100 an hour waiting to move my things in, just to have them unload everything into the garage. Since I didn't have any more money in my budget to hire them again, I had to have a friend help me unload the garage into the apartment. It took weeks. The next day, the dishwasher flooded while I was out. The day after that, there was a flea infestation from the prior occupant who had a cat. I woke up with flea bites all over my body. I think I forgot to mention what a disgrace the place was when I moved in. Some hood-rat tagged the screen (how was this not noticed before I moved in?!), the blinds were all bent or broken, the place smelled of cat pee, the cat hair was everywhere, the stove was laden with grease, and the chandelier had flame markings on it from where it obviously had caught on fire. Within the duration of the next year, I witnessed the SWAT team with bulletproof shields bust into the apartment next to mine, one other SWAT appearance in another location of the complex and a SWAT take-down in the apartments across the street. I can't even begin to count how many times I've seen cops and parole officers at the apartments. While walking my dog at 6pm, I witnessed a knife fight. I often heard terrifying domestic violence, along with domestic violence happening in the middle of the day in front of the complex on Chemeketa Ln. I got hit by a car while walking my dog from someone pulling onto Chemeketa. My washing machine flooded while I was gone one day. My water heater needed to be replaced. The mold that grew in the winter was astonishing. It was thick and grew up the walls. Even after I cleaned with bleach, it kept coming back. I notified the office and they sent someone to paint over the areas. I was sick the entire time I lived there. Headaches, muscle aches, cold symptoms. I discovered these are a sign of mold disease. My question is, if the mold was growing on the inside of my walls, what was happening inside the walls? I bet I was breathing that crap for a year. By the way, it's been months since I moved out, and feel great now. No symptoms. Speaking of moving out, they screwed me on my deposit. I left the place clean and not damaged at all. They charged me a ton of money to repaint (it didn't even need repainting!), and for cleaning. As for the cleaning, I know for a fact that they hire a cleaning person each time someone moves out. I was told by the office that they have a contract with a company to do this. Why is my "security deposit" going for a routine cleaning? After much fighting with them, and many months later, I got SOME of my money back. This place is a joke. Oh, and don't get lured in by pictures of the new pool-side furniture. The pool is closed 90% of the summer because they can't keep it clean. Happy apartment hunting.

Rent is exorbitant. Parking is grossly inadequate.

We moved in July 2012 from across the country. We have been very pleased with the office gals Liz and Ashley who helped coordinate our move... who to call for internet service, garbage service, etc. We signed the lease online and it streamlined everything. The staff has always been helpful and available and remembers who we are amidst lots of renters. Our unit was clean when we moved in, and sized like a starter home (1500 square feet with 3 bed/2.5 baths) so it's definitely bigger than an apartment. Nice appliances too (our fridge has the freezer on the bottom, and I like that). We have been pleased with the unit for a family of four with two dogs. Right after moving in, the staff had the buildings repainted, so it was great to see how they maintain their units. There is a big grassy park by the townhomes for our kids and dogs to play in but only downside is the low-income apartments beside Westview Heights Townhomes. Unsightly. And some questionable characters. Never have I felt in danger though. Speaking of the grassy park, I really wish people would pick up their dogs' poop!!!! That is my biggest problem here. I don't know why so many people are too lazy to pick up after their pet, when so many other people, pets, and children use the common areas too. It's disgusting and aggravating. Dozens of people (that's right... DOZENS) leave their dog's poop in the grass next to the bag dispenser where it would be so easy to grab a bag and clean it up. There's big poop, little poop, hard poop, soft poop. It's everywhere (not just by the bag dispenser). You have to constantly watch your step in the grass at all times and sometimes even on the sidewalk where poop has been tracked by shoes. It blows my mind that there can be so much poop and nobody cares. All in all, a quiet community of professionals. Not many college kids that I can see, but plenty of families and children. Parking can be a bear, but we have a two car tandem, so that helps. Parking will always be an issue in any dense housing situation. But regular sweeps of the tow truck keep people from parking illegally or from leaving broken down cars. So there is nothing unsightly. Very convenient location... to the freeway, shopping, Intel, etc.
