I read a couple of the reviews before posting, and I'm kind of shocked at their experiences with management. In life, I've noticed that if you are honest and patient with people, more often than not, you will get compassion in return. I initially came to Windemere to go to UofM, but I did have a change in plans, so I had to find a job fast. Windemere has a 30 day, leave with no penalty, perk (I've never heard of this...but awesome), and they actually extended it for me while I pursued a job fast. Um, some cool perks- they paint an accent wall (one- my was in the living room). And they paint it with a variety of colors for free using Sherwin Williams paint. I ended up picking up a blue. I ended up not painting anything, because the scheme was different and perfect. I didn't have to repaint when I left either. They also have a workout facility and great pool. Of course, peak hours will be difficult to find equipment, but I managed. Parking was covered and uncovered parking was plentiful. I believe they only have one spot per apartment, so I can see frustration if you have two tenants. Snow was pretty much always cleared. They were a couple of instances where A2 was hit hard without warning, and that might have taken a bit longer to clean up. Dumpsters were replaced as I moved in, and were very clean. I know this is a weird perk, but it's cool that I didnt have to hold my breath while chucking bags in it. Cons.. I've always hated stackable washers and dryers. Their capacities are sub-par. They have a terrible chandlier fixture, but I replaced it with a $9 light from homedepot..so easy fix. I lived on the first floor, and it was a great perk to have the screen door open to a patio, but the little chintzy security bar would break in an instance if the door was jerked hard enough. So I had an oak stick that worked. Water pressure was pretty bad. The shower head was a joke, so I replaced it, but my showers were definitely slower because the pressure really wasn't there. Dealing with maintenance- As I moved in, I encountered two problems. Birds nest above my door, and my dryer failed to work. They had two order a new dryer after failure with troubleshooting. That situation took only a week to fix. Maintenance took out the birds nest the next day. They have a fairly fast response time. I never had an issue with any other equipment. Maintenance was pretty helpful. Other notes: Rent included water. I thought my rent was high, but I definitely loved the safety and security of the complex. My street was lit at night, and my girlfriend wasn't concerned with parking or walking in the dark. Noise levels were expectedly higher than normal. I lived in a college town with some grad students, reg students, and families. Of course, people will socialize and have fun. Never had any issues with my neighbors. There was definitely noise, but at bed time, I couldn't hear a thing. Dealing with management is fine. I paid 300 for a security deposit, and got 260 back because of a carpet stain. I was happy with my stay and the leasing office. I would definitely recommend Windemere, but I would argue that a two-bedroom is probably more realistic in price than a 1 bedroom.

I am going to try this again... my email was hacked and other accounts, I noticed a lot of my reviews have been manipulated.. sorry :-/ passwords all changed up now, that is completely odd. Anyway. We are currently living at windemere and have been since the late summer of 2011. Pros We have had no major issues here, I can ride my bike around in the evening on warm nights, with no problem. It is close to work and other places. maintenance are great at getting things fixed on time. windows and door walls were just replaced, they have nice events and a great work out room and pool when the weather permits. They hold your packages in the office until you retrieve them. Cons. rent hikes were to much for us in the previous years, our first year went up about $100, it was less the years after and if we were to stay this year then I think it will only go up a few bucks but the high rent hikes in previous years turned us off so we will have to move so we can save for a home. It is not economy friendly for families looking to save money. In the spring/summer you will dodge geese poop constantly because it is literally everywhere.. although they do maintain the grounds well otherwise. dishwasher, washer and dryer are not that great for what you pay on the rent here but they are not the worst either. Although the pool is great, it has its drawbacks, a lot of people drink in the pool and are very rough around little ones. All in all it is a safe area of ann arbor which is the main reason for moving here, I still would not recommend this to families because of for one the rent hikes and if you want a nice pool to take your kids to in the summer its best to pay to go somewhere else away from the drunks you see here at the pool.

I've had a very mixed experience at Windemere, and for that reason I'm finally leaving. I'll begin by giving the maintenance crew their dues, as the entire time I've been here they've been timely and courteous when called upon. However, I feel I've had to call far too often. In almost two years, my water heater has failed three times. Nothing sucks more than having to take a cold shower before work. The first neighbors I had above me sprung a leak (not their fault) which resulted in their bath-water pouring through my ceiling fan... three times. It was finally fixed on the third try.. after my girlfriend's makeup, hairdryer, and straightening iron were just about destroyed. Again... highly irritating. These instances speak of the fairly dated and aging apartments themselves. Don't expect counters, appliances, or bathroom fixtures manufactured in the last ten years. The insulation is atrocious. I have a corner unit, and I regularly see $160-180 utility bills during the winter. Please note, I keep the thermostat at 68 degrees and I've applied clear plastic insulation to all the windows. Finally, and perhaps most depressingly, the lack of insulation leads to an overload of noise! Whether it be cars, people on the sidewalk, or neighbors, noise penetrates this apartment far too easily. I currently have a small family with pets above me, and since they've moved in it's been a constant stream of bumping, yelling, dog's barking... quite terrible. I would have thought the office people would have taken this into consideration, but apparently I gave them too much credit. Either way, I won't be renewing here. You can do far better than Windemere Park for $1000 a month.

I agree with the previous writers in that I dont know who is writing these reviews but I would be curious if they are actual tenants. I currently live in windemere and will be moving out at the lease finish for the following reasons....this is not a place to bring your family. The property manager does not care who they bring in or apparently what their credit line is because as of recent there have been tenants walking around outside with beer dragging their children around, there was a family fight just outside my door last month, and my neighbor reports his gf had a stalker who was reported to the company and they refused to do anything about it. I just feel if you are going to pay a mortgage for rent (because trust me you will and they will raise it astronomically each year) you should feel safe where you live and have some exclusivity from low-lifes in the area. Moreover, what you get is really not much for what you pay for. That's just me.

Expect major rent hikes. Service is fairly good as far as repairs etc and they keep the lawns up nice, but I get the feeling I am just an apartment number there and not really valued at all for anything but my rent check. We are leaving Windemere to rent from a private owner so we won't continue to be taken advantage in the current market. To me, with a 18% rent jump, you get 5% for inflation and after that I expect 13% more value from living there. Just don't see it anymore.
