I really do love it here.....
Anywhere you live, you will hate the fact dealing with your neighbors in apartments who blast loud music in the middle of the night, do crack, smoke weed, and just have a big mouth. I don't have an issue with CMC it just some of their tenants. There will always be wear and tear in old buildings so not too worry about that. Reading cops patrol the area late nights, I cool with that. I live in a worse area and apartments. These apartment is not bad at all, still have less crime here. Maybe no parties allow and loud music late nights made solve some issue I guess :/
I havent actually moved in yet, i move in this week. But so far, i am pretty satisfied, besides being negotiable they have also provided a moving service for FREE, which is a dream come true especially in this chilly weather. NO ONE wants to be moving furniture when its 26 degrees out. Besides spending time answering all my questions in detail and to my satisfaction they have been more than willing to show me the model unit each time i have requested without hesitation and have always been readily available when i call or just show up at the rental office. I hope this is a start to something great. The remodeled apartments are gorgeous and the balcony is to die for. I will re-post after i have moved in and update you on how things go.
Ok, I've lived here since early 2008. My first week at this property, someone in my building was stabbed and murdered and caused a whole police incident... Great first impression, to this day, 3 years later, they're are still police here nightly at the top of the hill. In Sept of 08, a windstorm blew the roof off of my apartment leaving me homeless for over a month. I stayed with a friend while the CMC management repaired my unit, assuring me that has soon as a new apartment became available I could move my things in and when my old unit was fixed, remodeled and brand new, I would have the option to move back in to that one. I was never given that option, and in late Oct of 08 I was asked to sign a NEW 14 month lease to move into a smaller apartment on the other side of the lake for the same amount of money I was paying at my old unit. Since being in this new unit, I have seen numerous cockroaches in the halls, my dishwasher quit working and maintenance told me I just didn't know how to use it right (It still hasn't been fixed) and my building constantly smells of marijuana. The front office, on multiple occasions, have misplaced my rent checks causing eviction notices to 'mistakenly' show up on my door, thankfully they've corrected these situations, charged me for mishandling of my garbage, when I hadn't even taken garbage down that day, and never seem to want to correct the problems inside my unit (leaking shower head, chipping paint, balcony rail is rotted and falling off). When Mary-Ann was the manager here, it still sucked, but she TRIED to take care of everyone, when she left and this new team came aboard (Sherri is by far the worst) this complex went down hill... I have just put my notice in that I will vacating by March 1st and was told that I needed to be out by the 28th, but would STILL be required to pay march rent. That was the icing on the cake. I will never recommend this property nor will I ever live at a CMC property again. Very disappointed!
