The management in this apartment building is so abysmal I consistently wonder if there are hidden cameras and someone out there is watching in amusement. Rules are changed randomly, half the time the staff just make up answers to things they don't know. For example, I was told that I could have maintenance come in and re-paint a bedroom for me and be billed for it...after a week and a half of calling the office and asking about when this guy was going to come, I was informed (rudely) that "we don't do that here"...okay, wish someone would have told me that the first time I asked. Just trying to follow the rules to keep the apartment I live in in a good condition? The most recent game management has cooked up involves changing out the keyfobs. We have been assigned days based by floor to come to the office and exchange old keyfobs for new ones. It does not matter that the hours the office is open are impossible to get to if you have a full time job...you must Comply. When I went in on a Saturday to try and get a key to get into the building where I have payed rent for over a year, I was informed that "the residents who missed their days will be assigned new ones." Because..it would be too easy to just..take care of it when I was in the office...but this tale doesn't stop here, folks. When I leave my job to race across town and get to the apartment complex on my assigned day, the office is mysteriously closed! Where are our esteemed wardens? They have taken their lunchbreak...at the same time...for an hour.... when I asked where their lunchbreak was posted, they told me that it was different every day "depending on when the delivery guy gets there". Convenient. When I pointed out that I wasn't told I had to make an appointment and it was insane to arbitrarily assign days in the middle of the workweek that we plebeians must Comply with, I was told, "we just ask that you respect our lunchbreak as we respect yours." yes, that is why I wasted an hour of my time to be turned away yet again. Because I was being respected! How could I have confused this experience with anything other than respect? My analytical skills are failing me. The chronicle doesn't end there, because when I finally am received by our Esteemed Management Leaders I am informed that I can't get a keyfob because...my insurance is out of date. Was there anything posted about insurance anywhere on the proclamations re:keyfob culling handed down from our Lords? No, because that might have made someone's life easier. Lowly resident that I am, I slunk back into the shadows to Comply, eager to meet the demands of our leaders. Alas! when I returned with my Scroll of Insurance I was to be turned away yet again! Dear readers my fate is to wait, eternally, by the portcullis of our building and slink in only on the coattails of residents more deserving than I. How could I have known that the Scroll of Insurance needed to be blessed in one more way, that the Property Management Overlords needed to be Listed as an Additional Interest...I grovel by the rolling throne of my mistress, tears in my eyes, "But You Are My Only Interest," I choke, "Not Additional, Entire Interest" My mistress sneers in disdain, and denies me my keyfob. This lowly resident has now dragged herself back to her apartment to pray for forgiveness, for I must have angered the gods of the Tower...or perhaps I am a champion, and I am being blessed by these many challenges! I will one day ride, glorious, KeyFob in hand! Another favorite is that there has been drippy trash water and insane amounts of pigeon poop in the hall for literally 2 months..when I commented on it I was told a new floor was going to be put in. So if two months from now you're planning on putting in a new floor, apparently the pre-existing floor no longer needs to be cleaned. It's been 2 months and 2 weeks now. I scratch a tally in the grime by my door to remember as each day goes by in my prison of filth... oh and one time someone came into my apartment for maintenance when I wasn't home and left my front door unlocked. :)
I have such a bad mice infestation in my apartment and when I told the office with the old and new manager nothing has been done,. Its a disgrace and now were being sued for eviction for holding rent and terrorist threats because my husband put 3 dead mice in front of leasing office, I have never in my life seen such treatment of their tenants.
Avoid this apartment. Yes, it is an old building. You understand there may be problem with this and that now and then. You know it when you decide to move in. However, you will never know how awful the leasing office is when you make the decision. The replace the whole leasing office recently. I guess it maybe because the infamous bad attitude of the former one like in the other review. But guess what, there is always worse. Yes the former one maybe disappear in office hours for a long time or act like your boss sitting in the office, but they do their jobs when you have chance to talk to them. At least they answer your questions. However, the new one not only inherit the bad habit perfectly but also they know nothing. They can never give you an answer. The parking lot is repainted and the number is changed. I just want to know where is my new number. Besides those absence during office hour, or office closing at 2pm and they were talking inside the office. I luckily talked to them three times. And I sill cannot get my number. The worst thing is they did all these with no regret, but more like you disturb their quiet afternoon tea time. One star for the maintenance team. They are always willing to help. Bottom line, stay away from this apartment.
This place is awful. When I first moved in, my kitchen window could be opened by anyone from the outside. It took about a month for this to fixed correctly after they tried to glue a piece of wood onto the window. It is crawling with mice, stink bugs, and lady bugs. The power is always going off. They don't offer enough parking and will tow your car at anytime. The two women in the leasing office are completely clueless 24/7. Don't get anything mailed here because they are of no help and don't even notify you when you receive a package. The "gym" is a waste of a space because only two machines actually work. The laundry machines don't work. The stairs smell like urine. You need a key fob to get in, however the door has been broken since I moved in, so anyone may enter when they please. If it's not too late, save your money and live in a cardboard box.
So much profesionalism, only because of the treatment is because I took the lease even tough the prices are not the best, the people will take seriously your needs and they will help you in anything, they really care about their people
