This is the third time they've cut the water off without any notice, which is extremely rude. I understand if it's an emergency but they could at least send an email when they become aware of the situation instead of cutting it off and leaving everyone in the dark about when it may possibly be back on, since they have no problem emailing me all the time telling me to recommend them. I also hate the "valet service"; it is not a service. They used to just pick up the trash at a certain time if you put it outside at the time; now they want me to "sign up" for trash service using a Facebook or Google account (there's also an option where you can call in and sign up) and then each time you want it picked up you have to make an appointment and allow ten minutes before and after for them to pick it up, and then you have to hand it to the person. I've never used it but I still have to pay for it, it's easier just to take it to the dumpster. They sent us q&a sheet about it when it started, and one of the questions was, why can't i leave my trash outside the door? The answer was because we'll fine you. Last time my lease was up for renewal they sent me a letter saying rent was going to be a certain amount and when I went to sign the lease it was higher. It was just a "mistake". Everything else is ok but the water shut offs are a big enough deal for me to give it 1 star.
The complex is nice and the grounds are well maintained, but don't let that fool you. I have been lucky enough to not have too many issues within my apartment, but the few times I have it has been next to impossible to get maintenance out to fix them. Most recently, my heater was not working. It was I believe during the cold snap right before Thanksgiving. I went by the office to report that my heat was not working at all when the high was in the 50s and low was in the 30s. It was written down and I was told someone would handle it the following day (this was on a Wednesday). My apartment was 60 or below. No one came the following day, so the day after I called and left a voicemail. That Sunday I was planning to have a group of friends over, and the heat had still not been addressed on Saturday. I called multiple times on Saturday expressing my concern that this and 2 minor issues had not been addressed. My sister was at my apartment when maintenance came by and was told that they would only address the heat since it was a Saturday and the heat was the only thing considered an emergency. The office is only open until 5:30 during the week, except for 1 day when it is open until 6. On more than 1 occasion, the office has closed early when I have tried to make it by on the only day they are suppose to be open late. I had to take leave from work to leave early enough to be able to pick up a package that I had been waiting on. I am about to end my lease this week and currently I am waiting on a call back regarding what I owe for my final 6 days. I was told that it should have been in my information given to me when I put in my notice. I was never given information when I put in my notice. I am so glad to be leaving this place!
Virtually non-existent staff. Calling the office does nothing, as the staff won't answer. Your only options are to select from a menu where "leave a message for our office staff to return during normal business hours" (which I can assure you does not happen) and "hang up and dial 911" are two of the four options. The gym is an absolute joke; kids climb all over the few working machines and the staff does nothing about it. On more than one occasion the only working treadmill was occupied by a child doing sideways bear-crawls. Ridge Crossings has an absurd amount of those destructive plastic speed bumps, to the point it is a struggle just to drive in and out of the complex. I need a Dramamine just to get up my driveway. After several people complained about neighbors smoking and talking loudly in the breezeway late into the night, the staff studied the likes of Churchill and Eisenhower for their leadership and conflict-resolution strategy in how to deal with intra-tenant disputes. Just kidding, they put a passive-aggressive letter on all the doors of my building, stating that if they caught us smoking in the breezeway we would be fined $50. The smoking and late-night noises continue. In closing, the floor plans are nice, and it does have a pleasant jogging trail. The stoplight at the complex entrance is a plus. PS, Joe's Apartment has nothing on this place...
I have lived here for a few months now and I love it. The office staff have always been friendly and attentive whenever we have come up there, despite being very busy because this is a fairly large complex. They fixed our leaky fridge and sink within 24hrs of us reporting them. The price including utilities is great for the area, and the apartments and grounds are clean and well-kept. The neighborhood is quiet and it's close to everything. This is sincerely the nicest place I have ever lived. I live in a 2-br/2-ba unrenovated apartment.
I really dont like it. There are roaches everywhere that they won't take care of. There is a raccoon in between my wall and my neighbors wall and it is scratching away at the wall and hissing at night. It is very annoying and nobody will take care of it. There is mold in every vent and my child got sick already from it. NO BODY SHOULD EVER LIVE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
