Virtually non-existent staff. Calling the office does nothing, as the staff won't answer. Your only options are to select from a menu where "leave a message for our office staff to return during normal business hours" (which I can assure you does not happen) and "hang up and dial 911" are two of the four options. The gym is an absolute joke; kids climb all over the few working machines and the staff does nothing about it. On more than one occasion the only working treadmill was occupied by a child doing sideways bear-crawls. Ridge Crossings has an absurd amount of those destructive plastic speed bumps, to the point it is a struggle just to drive in and out of the complex. I need a Dramamine just to get up my driveway. After several people complained about neighbors smoking and talking loudly in the breezeway late into the night, the staff studied the likes of Churchill and Eisenhower for their leadership and conflict-resolution strategy in how to deal with intra-tenant disputes. Just kidding, they put a passive-aggressive letter on all the doors of my building, stating that if they caught us smoking in the breezeway we would be fined $50. The smoking and late-night noises continue. In closing, the floor plans are nice, and it does have a pleasant jogging trail. The stoplight at the complex entrance is a plus. PS, Joe's Apartment has nothing on this place...
I have lived here for a few months now and I love it. The office staff have always been friendly and attentive whenever we have come up there, despite being very busy because this is a fairly large complex. They fixed our leaky fridge and sink within 24hrs of us reporting them. The price including utilities is great for the area, and the apartments and grounds are clean and well-kept. The neighborhood is quiet and it's close to everything. This is sincerely the nicest place I have ever lived. I live in a 2-br/2-ba unrenovated apartment.
Ive lives there 2 seperate times for a combined total of 8 years. i think its a great apartment complex with good residents and a helpful staff. apartment quality is really good.
NEGATIVE 5 STARS Worst place I have ever lived in my life. Maintenance team is inferior, tried to have a toilet fixed three times, which they failed to fix. Eventually I gave up on the toilet. It took them two times to fix the water heater. Furnace broke down too. The complex is always breaking a water main thus leaving you/us without water for hours. Don't expect to come home from work and take that nice relaxing shower, no no water main broke again. Staff does NOT answer phones. After two weeks of signing lease mold began to grow on the walls, wasn't from me because I didn't move in right away. I found that someone left an odor eliminator in the main AC duct which became moldy and most likely cause the mold to spread. Maintenance always leaves a light on after they have been in your apartment, which cost you money. On site laundry mat requires a card not money to use machines and where do you add money to the card. I'll tell you where you add money. At the leasing office, which is closed if you work nights or 70+ hours a week, which means you can't add money because the leasing office is closed by time you get home from work. The way my mind works is, if I need to add money to the "laundry" card to use the "laundry" machine shouldn't the machine to add money be in the "laundry" mat and not the leasing office. Laundry machines are always breaking down too. Just save yourself the trouble don't live here. A friend of mine lived here too, let's just say he didn't renew his lease. Also they must be getting desperate for new tenants because they approve anybody now. So just think about that for a minute, the word anybody. Last but not least I have received a letter three months later claiming that I owe $658.00 early termination fee. Here comes the funny part, I paid the $658.00 early termination fee along with any other fees (that's how bad I wanted to get the hell out of there). So now I have to get the lawyer involved. LIKE I SAID, DON'T LIVE HERE. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT MOVING HERE. UNLESS YOU LIKE HEADACHES THEN BY ALL MEANS MOVE INTO the Ridge Crossings Apartments located at Tree Crossings Parkway. Now some might say this is slander but what is slander? The action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation. Everything I said is true so it's not slander. Have yourself a nice day. DON'T LIVE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you are going to rent here make sure you look at the EXACT floor plan that you want. I stress exact because there are several different ones. They will tell you they only have certain ones available or tell you that your price will go up if you don't go ahead and lock in a certain apartment. Do not be persuaded by these comments. THEY WILL NOT REFUND ANY OF YOUR MONEY once you have given it to them. We were showed the model but was given a different floor plan to rent. Once we complained about the size not meeting our expectations we were asked for more application fees to get into our desired apartment. Honestly after looking at just about every property in Hoover these aren't really worth the money. The office staff was polite and the grounds looked okay but in the end they stiffed us....I could hear a lot of noise from the highway and heard of roof leaks when I visited. I would not recommend Ridge Crossings just because I really think my experience speaks to the true character of the management staff at Ridge Crossings.
