I visit my friend and office staff were so rude and disrespectfull. Aufull place! I dont know how people live there...
Just wanted to balance out the generally negative reviews with my own experience. We just moved out of Timber Ridge, and for the most part, we had a good experience living there. Our building was very quiet (besides the construction nearby that the management had no control over) and our apartment was more spacious than others in the area for a similar price. We managed to get back our full deposit minus carpet cleaning. On the negative side, the office staff had the tendency to be less than friendly, and the company they hired out to for parking services was even worse. The office made a mistake in billing us for a month's rent that we had previously paid, but they corrected the mistake. We also had ants and really disliked the sketchy wall heater in our unit. Overall, not a bad place for CU students. Easy walking distance to campus, slightly cheaper rent than others in the area, plenty of parking, and a pretty decent pool and weight room. We would have continued living there if they had any open units around our move-out date.
I lived here for just over a year and their apartments have many problems that they are unable to fix. the buildings are very old and everything is falling apart. if it wasnt close to the cu campus, no one would ever live here for these prices. in the winter our heater was only able to heat the apartment up to 65 degrees (which is still pretty cold in the winter). they came twice to fix it and finally they left us with a note saying "this is as good as the heater will work". the cold water however is always hot for some mysterious reason. Nobody knows why. when you open cold water faucet for 2mins hot water comes out of it. THEY HAVE BED BUGS! be very careful about the bed bugs in their apartments. and finally their office staff can get very rude. one of my rent checks got returned and when I went to give them a new check they were acting like I've committed a crime or something. they were extremely rude right in my face. SUMMERY: DONT LIVE HERE. you can find much better places close to campus for this price.
I had lived in Timber Ridge Apartments for a total of a year and a half, first staying with a friend and then moving into a unit of my own. The duration of my stay here was overall pleasant; I felt I was paying a fair price for the space and location. The maintenance staff were the most helpful and friendly of all. However, I had quite a few negative experiences that outweigh the good - several agreements I had signed to in my lease were not followed by fellow residents. There were constantly dogs barking as well as dog piles everywhere although I had been told "only service animals are allowed", there seemed to be a questionable amount of service animals in the Blue Sky Lofts complex. Nobody seemed to be picking up after their animal and I would walk downstairs to find huge piles of sh*t nearly every day. My lease stated there would be no smoking of cigarettes allowed on the premises yet within a couple of months of moving in, the complex installed ashtrays throughout. I was constantly smelling cigarettes from my neighbors. This complex also seemed excessively noisy. I had several neighbors that clearly did not have consideration for anyone else living there. Very young crowd. Forget trying to speak to the employees of the leasing office, every single time I went in there, with the exception of a blonde who I had seen around since 2013, was exceptionally rude. I've had eyes rolled at me, received snarky attitude to the most basic of questions. When CALMLY expressing an issue one of the employees interrupted my conversation with another to make rude comments toward me. Pretty much all of the employees are college-age and I don't believe take customer service very seriously. I often felt like I was receiving residual frustration from whatever other stress they were dealing with throughout the day. I can relate, I have been in customer service almost all of my working life, but as a professional I could not believe the responses I would get from these people. When it came down to it, I decided not to renew my lease on THIS BASIS ALONE! As someone who payed my rent on time every month and never made complaints to management, I would have expected better treatment. If you're moving in with your parent's money and won't be dealing with any of the logistics yourself, great place to live. But if you are a working professional who expects a mutual respect between management and yourself, look elsewhere.
