When I read these comments I was terrified to move in, now that I've been living here 6 months I don't understand the bad rep. I moved form New Jersey to Colorado this summer and the leasing manager was so helpful with all of my many questions, the rent is a very low price for Boulder, my apartment is clean and the location is ideal for a student. The office staff has always been very friendly and helpful whenever I needed something. I would recommend timber ridges to anyone!
Its amazing to live here! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Its very close to the university. There is a bus that comes right there that takes you anywhere you wanna go! I have been living here for 2 years and I would definitely recommend anyone to move in here!
If you'll note, most of the reviews are years old and as I understand, there was a change in management about two years ago. I lived in Blue Sky Lofts next door, managed by the same folks who manage Timber Ridge and the staff were always helpful. The apartments are nice, on the smaller side but for the location the price is reasonable, maybe a tad high but nothing I'm not willing to pay. The neighborhood's quieter than the Hill but still right off campus. I can walk to classes on the furthest corner of campus in fifteen minutes.
This place is fine if you don't have any maintenance issues but if you do good luck. They almost killed my dog. Staff has no clue what they are doing. Total joke
Just thought I'd respond to the most common complaints, I've lived here for a year so far. Generally this place has a good bang for a lower buck (at least in Boulder) and I'd recommend it if you don't mind putting up with a few things. 1) Office staff is fine, and unless you're an idiot you shouldn't have issues with them. If you come in with a good attitude they are generally helpful and positive although they have their obviously "rough" days. 2) Maintenance team is actually very good in my experience. They are nice and they work basically full time along with the office staff. They are good about fixing basically anything and never charging you, they understand that the buildings are old and stuff breaks. 3) Buildings are old but not on their last legs quite yet. Expect millions of layers of eggshell-white paint, if you're like us you'll get a few tapestries and try to forget about it. Mold has happened once for us, but it wasn't anything a bit of bleach didn't fix. Bugs come and go occasionally, but no bed bugs for us. Just some spiders in the bathtub, etc. 4) Yeah, the buildings are old, so expect the units to be inconsistent. Your neighbor may have a nicer or different place than you (or vice versa). This is just what happens after decades of repair/replaces and slight renovations, obviously they can't do all this stuff all at once so every unit is a bit different. Expect no dishwasher or washer/dryer set but laundry rooms are always close. 5) Units are not terribly tiny but are small and boxy. Don't expect to be able to share a bedroom very easily. 6) People smoke, so does the maintenance staff. I don't personally care, but if you've got serious issues with smoking and just can't stand a whiff every now and then, you may find yourself a bit angry when summer rolls around and everyone has their windows open (I've seen residents get seriously irate about this). Overall, 4/5 would recommend. If you're on the cheap and need a place close to campus you won't find much better.
