First of all, if i had a choice, I would not even want to give a STAR at all. I am writing a review not to complain something, but to talk about our own feelings and the fact to the future residents. Hope they can take this seriously into their considerations for choosing apartments. Let me say some good words first. The place is quiet, and close to a huge playground, and i believe it is a park. That is good for summer. there will be a lot of plainsboro township activities in the park. The apartment itself is just what it is, normal apartment, no good or bad. old AC/heating. Make extremely loud noise.... We talked to the people at Hunters Glen (HG) many times, but it seems they are not willing to replace it since it will take money. Therefore we have to get used to the noise for almost two years. Let's talk about some charges at the end of our lease. 1. We were charged for late notice fee. A huge amount of money. The reason is that we did not give the written notice to HG 60 days before the lease end. When we came to the office to argue about this, people at HG just read the lease terms to us, and say everything is in paper and we should know it. The problem is when we come to the office to give the written notice, we were NOT told anything about this late notice charge....if we knew there will be a charge, we probably will extend the lease to another month or two.... They know this, but are not willing to tell you... I guess in their heart, they want you to get charged...not healthy, but it is the nature of business. From this, i feel like there should be big changes at HG management. 2. Anyway, after we moved out, we got another BIG bill, including charges on paint, cleaning, carpet and other things. No matter what we do for the cleaning after moving out, HG can still find lots of things to charge you, no question about it. It is just their nature to make money. This part actually has been reported in others' review. Not only i talk about this. The people at HG gave me the brand and product names for the paint, we bought it and did the painting by ourselves. At the end, we were still charged for the painting $220. (do nothing will be charged $250). We spend a whole day cleaning the floor, kitchen, bathroom and carpet. At the end we are still be charged with the cleaning $120 (do nothing will be charged $140) and carpet $70 (do nothing will be charged $100). Now my question is why should be spend so much time doing the cleaning, painting and changing something. If we knew it is their NATURE, we just left the apartment with b***s**t, since no matter what you do, you will get fully charged... i feel very very angry about it. And they will always find something to charge you, like cut at the kitchen. Again it is their NATURE to make money. I am responsible for what i wrote here, and do not say anything exaggerating. Just give our feeling with some fact. In a word, i do not even want give one star for the rate...
Quiet, not a bad place to live overall until you leave... Read your lease carefully. Your deposit will actually go toward paying utilities for 2 months after you vacate the property. Regardless of how well you clean your apartment when you leave, you will be charged a ton of money. I was relieved when my final bill was only around $600 given some of the other reviews that I've read. You must also give 60 days notice before you end your lease. I gave 51 days notice and was charged for 9 days extra ($330, as per my lease). Those 9 days really must have hampered their leasing team. Also, they must have a deal cut with PSE&G to keep the utility fees high. The windows in the apartments are so old and useless that in order to keep your place at 62 degrees during the winter, you'll have to spend about $500 a month in electric heat. I've cooled off since moving out of here, but all of the money wasted on this place still bugs me.
This place sucks. There are rats running around my cupboards and there are tons of cockroaches and there is a cheap heater/AC machine that wastes your money. The outside of the apartment is made out of plastic! What the heck? You have to pay $4 just to wash and dry one load of clothes. The top of the patio door leaks whenever it snows, sleets,or rains. The walls are so cheap a shirt made a long, thick black mark on the wall! You have to pay $150 recreation fee for no reason! I don't use the pools or play in the snow. What a waste of money! DO NOT COME TO HUNTERS GLEN APARTMENTS!!!!
I really like hunters glen apartments. The location is close to shopping centers, great schools, major highways. I really liked the fact that theres a lot of sidewalks, walking is a huge part of my way of life and its perfect for those who like to walk on a daily basis. Staff is friendly and helpful. Any questions or concerns are answered in a timely manner. I love the fact that there are pools located throughout the complex. Very refreshing after a long day at work. I give Hunters Glen Apartments a five star review!!
I chose Hunters Glen over 20 years ago after carefully reviewing complexes in a ten+ mile radius of Princeton. No housing is perfect, but in location, layout, landscaping, and maintenance it still beats all alternatives for me - in its price range, of course. A much better choice than most of Princeton's rental apartments. Service has always been responsive when I've needed it. The office staff have been courteous and helpful. Laundry rooms aren't cheap but are well maintained. The pools are wonderful in summer. Public transportation and the local schools and public library are excellent.
