It sucks here. Have been here now for 5 months. They can't keep anything working and they tell you all this stuff go get you to move in and once that happens your locked into your lease. They even have a contractor that goes around the complex looking at cars to see if they are out of date with inspections and va laws but don't tell you that when you move in. They don't tell anyone that lives here what's going on and the management is just out for themselves. The maintence takes forever to be completed and when it does get completed its done half ass. DO NOT MOVE HERE. They will just take your money. It's not worth it.
I've lived out here going on 2 months and at first I thought I would love it because everyone seemed professional. Let me just say that I'm awaiting Wavy 10 to call me back. We have Roof Rats and pest issues here. Why would you build a 10million dollar club house and not fix up these older apartments? Why not update and keep the current tenants happy? One thing I so believe in is treating people right and if you don't treat people right... Things may look good and going good for you, but God will remind you of how you have done people! I have old wholes in my ceiling and old water damage that looks like it happened before I moved in. It's just a mess out here. Before you move out here please weigh your options, because trust me it looks good in the front but it is hard to get your work orders completed. I'm sadden on how they are not keeping their promise and it is so much more to mention, but just know that everything that look and sound good.... IT'S NOT!!!! And the clubhouse isn't 24 hours as it says! May god touch this management team out here.
I have lived here for about 2 years now with a few of my roommates and we just love it. It's located right next to all of the best small business's and right across the street from a 7-11. The maintenance is also pretty cool and are fast at finishing work-orders whenever we need them. Also for renewing our contract, we're receiving a cruise to the Bahamas! How awesome is that?!
Let me start by saying that I’ve been living here for a couple years now because of the convenience of the location. Since the beginning I have hoped that conditions would get better but they have not. Over this time I have experienced many problems. First, I had a severe problem with multiple leaks coming from the ceiling mounted water heating unit. This caused water damage to the ceilings, walls and personal property. Each time management sent someone from maintenance with a temporary fix. When I complained at the management office, the office manager acted as if she could careless about my inconvenience. If they need to do repairs in your apartment they’ll tell you they’ll come when it’s best for them. They’ll give your apartment keys to any number of ever changing maintenance staff who you don’t know, without even trying to arrange a time when you’re home. On a number of occasions I’ve been told a repairman was on the way and they did not show. The washer and dryer units located in the unit have never worked. Now the latest problem is roaches and fleas and I don't own a pet! Needless to say that I’ve had enough! I’m out of at the end of the lease. You’ve been warned!
I lived in Ivystone from August 2006-May 2007. I was very satisfied with the cleanliness and condition of the apartment, as well as the quick response from maintenance about a couple of very minor issues. Everyone in the office was always pleasant and helpful. There was tons of parking, which is not the case in many apartment complexes. It was a great, very convenient location and though it seems expensive for what you get, inexpensive housing in Hampton Roads is almost non-existant. It was very noisy because I was in a unit facing Volvo Parkway (sirens ALL the time), but I knew that going into it. My only complaint is when I moved out, the property manager did not show up for our move-out inspection appointment - I had to go to the office and learned that she was in a meeting all day. No one else could do it, so that was frustrating. I haven't received my deposit/accounting yet, but if that does not create a hassle in my life, then my overall experience with Ivystone will be a very positive one. EDIT: I wrote the above review about a month ago... I had to take away a star because I have not received my deposit nor any accounting of it and it is far past the 45 days given by law. I have sent certified letters, emails, made phone calls, and everyone is pleasant but nothing is done. Extremely unprofessional.
